OS X Mavericks (10.9)
Hi peanutbutterlover,
If you are having issues with your printer after upgrading to 10.9 Mavericks, you may find the following article helpful:

Does Ricoh have a driver for this printer? It doesn't appear on http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669. If you had it working in 10.8 and still have the drivers, you could try deleting and re-adding the printer.
The Ricoh page below doesn't list any drivers past 10.7.
http://support.ricoh.com/bb/html/dr_ut_e/ra/model/x2022_27/x2022_27en.htm
GIMP print has drivers, but they may not be full featured.
This copier is about 9 years old. As far as I know there isn't going to be a new driver/ppd written for this device. That said the built in generic ps and pcl drivers in 10.9 work pritty well over TCP IP.
My setup went as follows.
Click the Apple in the left corner of the menu bar.
System Prefrences.
Printers and Scanners.
Click the + sign.
Select IP.
In "Address:" type the IP address of the machine.
Next to "use:" pick Generic Post Script Printer or Generic PCL Printer.
If you pick PostScript and you get code printing out insted of your print job, your printer may not have the PostScript opption. If you don't, pick the PCL.
Click Add.
If you have the duplexer unit check Duplex Printing Unit and press OK.
Thats what I did for 10.8 and 10.9. Good luck!
Ok - well, after much pain & agony, I found that I could print B&W via the network to our Ricoh Aficio MP C2050 via the IP address, then, choosing HP Jetdirect - Socket and either the Generic PCL or one of the other generic PCL 6 drivers from Gutenprint v5.2.3 (there is an LF and a non-LF option).
A call to Ricoh basically gave me the answer...must add the Postscript option to the printer if you want to print via a Mac...I can live with B&W!

Hi, i had the same issue, and for a year no matter what did I could not print.
A week ago I wiped clean my mac, with fresh installation of Mavericks, and I did try again to install my C2050 printer.
This time it worked, with colour, 1200 dpi printing and all.
I installed first the ricoh drivers, that don't work for me, and then i installed the PXL Mono drivers:
http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/macosx/pxlmon o
first Foomatic-Rip, then Ghostscript and only in the end pxlmono.
The drivers are for osx 1.8, but with Mavericks they happen to work all right.
Then, in adding a new printer in the IP section, i put the local host name of my printer, rnpt7t5c6.local,
chose HP Jetdirect - Socket as Protocol and selected the pxl driver using software select.
This worked for me, I hope it does work for you too.
Filippo
