Oct 25, 2013 6:02 AM in response to Tony in Ottawaby TigerClaw305,I'm experiencing the same problem with my 4th Gen iPod Touch, It would get stuck at the finishing sync, even though it does not affect the device. The only work around is to hit the sync button again and when it goes through the process, It'll stop.

Oct 25, 2013 6:15 AM in response to TigerClaw305by HRPuffnstuff2013,If you're using a usb hub try plugging directly into a motherboard header instead and see if the problem goes away. I've had similar issues since upgrading to 11.x and found that worked for me.

Oct 25, 2013 2:43 PM in response to Tony in Ottawaby garyfromtulsa,After updating with Mavericks and updating iphone 4GS and all apps including iTunes, same thing has been happening. I eject the phone using the gear symbol on lower left of the page and everything is fine. Upon re-sync clicking the "Sync" button on bottom right, it works. However, adding new photos and syncing again, the problem reappears. I eject again. Re-sync and it works. Then, I tried deleting one of my events and re-syncing...it works. However, added that event again, and it gets stuck "finishing" again. Appears that whenever I ADD something, the loop gets stuck. No need to restore or go to much trouble other than using the eject option, but it is the first time I've ever had to do this. I imagine it will re-appear everytime photos are taken on the phone...trying to add them in the sync process ends up stuck in the loop...even though the photos have been added to my Aperture file. So, I'm not missing anything or losing anything. Just a glitch?

Oct 26, 2013 1:16 AM in response to Tony in Ottawaby iblecher,What seems to be working for me is when iTunes is "stuck" on syncing, I change something in my apps (either add an app or remove an app) and then click the sync again.
This causes a new sync but doesn't get stuck with a syncing message.

Oct 26, 2013 7:45 AM in response to Tony in Ottawaby linuxhead64,Same here, Mavericks, iTunes 11.1.2, 4S on iOS 7.0.3, 5 on iOS 7.0.3, iPad 1 on iOS 5.1.1. All get stuck on "Finishing Sync". Hitting Sync button again ends the stuck state. I'm guessing it's an Apple (and not a device) issue.

Oct 26, 2013 10:45 AM in response to Tony in Ottawaby Morac,I see this on my Windows XP SP3 machine running iTunes 11.1.2.31 with both my iPhone 5S and iPad 2. Both of them are running iOS 7.0.3.
From what I can tell sync actually has completed as the "Sync" button re-enables and the spinning wheel on my iPad and iPhone goes away. For whatever reason the "Finishing Sync" text never goes away though. Even during "Finishing Sync", I can do another sync, backup or do anything else, so I believe this is a display issue.

Oct 27, 2013 2:38 AM in response to Tony in Ottawaby Just Bex,I have the same issues, after upgrading all my Apple devices and software (iPhone 5, iPod, iPad and Macbook Pro) all are having one type of issue or another never experienced prior to ioS7. Currently iTunes wont stop syncing after trying all suggestions here (thanks everyone)...If I didnt have so many Apple devices I would be ditching the lot and looking elsewhere. My disapointment in all things Apple post ioS7 is phenomenal, after spending many hours trying to debug, completely wiping and returning to manufacturer condition etc (iPhone and iPad) the problems prevail. Apple please get your sh*t together or allow devices to be regressed to the previous stable operating system!

Oct 27, 2013 10:47 AM in response to Tony in Ottawaby Kuron,I read on another thread a way that worked for me if Gearmaster's way doesn't work:
Simply click the Manual Backup button and once it finishes the backup, the finishing sync goes away.

Oct 27, 2013 10:55 AM in response to Tony in Ottawaby MErpelo,Unfortunately, none of the solutions worked for me. iPhone 5 with Mavericks and iTunes 11.1.2 (31).
Tried installing an app...delete the app...both install and removal processes and it will still get stuck FINISHING SYNC. Tried changing something via iPhoto, download and delete photos and no success.
I clicked the eject button beside the device icon on the left pane and iTunes did not really complain that a process is still in progress...THAT I found odd and it still ejected my device. Unplug device and reconnect...still got stuck finishing sync.
I'm actually starting to wonder if the process actually finished and just the graphic and status window above is just not resetting to the finsihed/ apple logo. My 2¢.

Oct 27, 2013 1:21 PM in response to Tony in Ottawaby wasilaus,Hi
The same with my new iPhone 5s and iTunes 11.1.2.
The problem apparently is the iTunes update.
