Nov 5, 2013 9:38 PM in response to Tony in Ottawaby Dichio24,Okay, it seems to be working for me now.
I did the iTunes update that came out this afternoon. That fixed the issue with the syncing getting hung up. Another issue I had which wasn't fixed was that any songs ripped from CD's or downloaded from other sources wasn't being synced to my iPhone. Anything purchased from iTunes was moving over fine.
I backed everything up on iCloud (doubt it makes a difference if you do it on your computer instead) then reset my phone. Did a restore afterwards. Once that was finished, non iTunes purchases still weren't moving over. So I decided to just highlight one of the albums that wasn't being synced and just dragged and dropped from my library to my iPhone on the sidebar on the left. This prompted all of my music that wouldn't make the migration, to finally sync. I guess the reset/restore did the trick.
It doesn't make sense, but I'm happy for the time being.
Until next time, Apple!

Nov 6, 2013 8:22 AM in response to Tony in Ottawaby gearmaster,Looks like the update to iTunes permanently (so far anyways) fixed the problem for me syncing my iPhone 4S to my Windows based PC via the USB cable without me having to do a workaround any longer.

Nov 24, 2013 3:39 AM in response to Tony in Ottawaby mwgoldfix,I have a iphone 4S and ' upgraded' to IOS7 - I have two major issues - the Sync with Itunes has left most of my music library ( 5,700 songs) sitting in the cloud - can only play them by streaming or have to download them directly on to the phone - multiple restores and resets on the phone but the issue persists - WHEN ARE APPLE GOING TO RELEASE AN UPDATE TO FIX THIS ??? - this would be the worst upgrade i have ever experienced with Apple - oh the other issue is my phone wont recognise my iPad mini via bluetooth - says is ' unsupported' - great stuff - wont be downloading any music until Apple fix this bug - two weeks of trawling the various forums online with no conclusive answer - v disappointing

Sorry to hear that you're having issues with iOS 7. I'll take a swing at the two items with which you're struggling.
First it sounds like you're using iTunes Match? If iTunes Match is enabled on your iPhone your tracks will remain on Apple's servers until, as you discovered, you play one or manually download it. If you want all of your tracks stored on your iPhone you can turn iTunes Match off (on your iPhone - Settings - iTunes & App Store > iTunes Match). Then connect your iPhone to your computer and in iTunes check which songs/albums/playlists, etc. you want on your iPhone when you sync it. Love it or hate it that's how iTunes Match has always worked. The thought process is that your favorite songs will be stored on your iPhone when you've played them once, freeing up a lot of space. But again, if you want thousands of tracks stored on your iPhone, you can easily do that as well.
Here are some tutorials and articles about how iTunes Match works...

With respect to Bluetooth, it's generaly meant for using accessories like headphones, keyboards, etc. on iOS devices. The iPad Mini, 4 and Air as well as the iPhone 5 and 5s (but not your iPhone 4s) can use AirDrop to transfer files via Bluetooth. IIRC there are apps in the App Store that might assist with what you'd like to do. More here:

Hope that helps!

Dec 1, 2013 7:26 PM in response to Tony in Ottawaby zummajan,I was willing to agree that the sync really was finished even though iTunes remains stuck on "waiting for items to copy," but for the first time, I downloaded an audiobook from Audible, checked it in iTunes and it will not show up on my phone. When will Apple come out with a fix for this? Has anyone heard?

Sorry to hear that you're having problems with syncing your iPhone. Assuming that you're running the latest version of iTunes, 11.1.3 (8)?
iTunes may appear to be stuck on "waiting for items to copy" but still working, so you may want to give it some more time. IIRC the first sync with iOS 7 took quite a while on ours. If you can leave it alone for an hour or two or overnight that might do it. FWIW syncs on our iPhones generally take less than a minute now.
Otherwise Audible Books have been downloading to iTunes and syncing with our iPhone 4 and 5s (both iOS 7) without any issues.
When syncing your iPhone click on Books > Sync Audio Books and check the box next to the book(s) that you want on your iPhone then Sync.
If that doesn't work you might try rebooting your computer and/or a hard reset of your iPhone (hold the home and power buttons until you see the Apple logo, then let go) and try again.
Hope that helps!

Dec 9, 2013 8:56 PM in response to Tony in Ottawaby Bolove,My iphone 4s will not complete a full sync and it won't add music from my recently added. I've created a new smartlist playlist and it's still not working. My 4s is on 7.0.4 and I have restored my iphone multiple times to see if that would fix the issue and nothing. My itunes is also up to date with 11.1.3. I've tried multiple cable cords and it still doesn't want to work. I've synced and unsynced, I've even tried syncing a friends 4s on my itunes and it does the same thing. I'm so frustrated PLEASE HELP ME!

Wow, how frustrating!
FWIW don't try syncing someone else's iPhone to your iTunes/computer...for a number of reasons. The fact that someone else's iPhone won't sync doesn't mean anything with respect to your iPhone having issues.
So a couple of questions come to mind...
First, at what point does the sync stall?
How much time are you giving it to sync?
How much space is left on your iPhone? Or put another way, how much storage did your iPhone come with, 16GB, 32GB or 64GB and how much does it show is used? If the available storage is <.5GB there may not be enough space to fully sync and/or fully download and update any files. If that's the case uncheck syncing for everything, music, videos, books etc. and try syncing again. That will erase all of your music, photos, videos, etc. so be sure you have them backed up elsewhere. If it syncs, try re-adding your files category by category (videos, photos, music) and sync each time. If it's just a matter of space you may have to sync less files on your iPhone. If it hangs after re-adding something you may have one or more corrupted files. You should be able to zero in on what it is if so.
When you say "restored", do you mean restored from a backup or to factory specs? Restoring from a corrupted backup won't change the problem. A single file may be causing a the issue.
It sounds as if you've tried most everything and if the above doesn't work you may have to wipe your iPhone.
If you can, go ahead and back up your iPhone (don't worry about syncing it). Ideally you also have a backup of the important content such as photos, etc. elsewhere.
Once you've secured all of your files go ahead and restore your iPhone to factory settings:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Of course that will wipe everything so you'll start from scratch. You'll need to download your apps, sync your music, set up your email and so on, but that will give you a "clean slate". I wouldn't worry about any apps initially. Start with adding your files first...checking the sync each time to begin your detective work.
Ultimately if you still can't get it to sync it may be time for a visit to the Apple Store...or a call to support.
Hope that helps...and others may chime in with some additional thoughts.
Best of luck and let us know how it goes.
