mavericks wifi

Just updated this MBPr 13" to Mavericks. Wifi now connects and drops every five seconds. Tried the fixes found on other forums, but nothing works. Created new network location, and changed to that, but still the same problem. This is a total killer for productivity. The only way I am able to post this message is to use my TBtoEthernet connector and hardwire to my network. I am running all Apple networking equipment, all with the latest firmware updates.

This really, really is annoying.

Thanks for all the help. I actually tried all of these things. None worked. The curious thing is that I upgraded my wife's MB Air and it is working fine. In my googling, this issue seems to be between Mavericks and Retina MBPs.

I called Apple support, and they are having me do a complete reinstall of 10.9. I am not optimistic because I made a portable install disk to keep from having a 5.5Gb download 4 times. The other computers that are not Retina MBPs are fine after using the same install disk.

I think Apple has a hardware/software issue between the Retina models and 10.9

A related set of problems:

Have installed 10.9 on a 2009 MBP, a 2011 iMac and a 2011 Macbook Air. Two problems are exhibiting:

1) On all 3 devices in the home environment the wifi is disconnecting periodically. By cycling Wifi on and off I can re-establish connections reasonably easily.

2) However, at my office with the Macbook Air I have a different problem. The Wifi speed goes to less that .5MB/sec when the device connected to an external monitor. As soon as I unplug the monitor I return to a 10MB/sec download rate.

My iPad is running fine in both environments all the time. So, something's amiss in Mavericks settings that I need to correct. I've read a separate article suggesting I may have harmonic interference on 2.4GHZ between the external monitor in the office and the wifi. Possible, so I will see if I can get onto a different channel and report back. I'm reading the posts above and will cycle through the options. Any other feedback is welcome!

I spent about 3 hours on the phone with Apple support last night. I finally ending up having to do an erase and install of 10.9, and then using Migration Assistanton a backup to reload all my users and applications, but without any of the settings being transferred. So I spent the best part of the morning redoing all my email accounts, software license keys and applications. I guess the bright side is that this probably cleared out 7 years of migrated system cruft, but it was still a major pain in the ***.

The strangest thing we discovered during the support call was that the wifi behavior as isolated to my main user account. I always have a clean backup admin account on all my systems, and when logged into that account, the wifi behaved. So whatever the problem was, it had something to do with my main user account.

ughhh

Where is Apple people on this issue? This is bizarre, I had to connect to my home network three times just to log in! I have 2 iMacs, one airport extreme and one time capsule and a MBP all now on mavericks and I constantly need to get back to my network! Why Apple? It has all worked perfectly until now! Even my iPad behaves strange!

So regardless of our different levels how do we get Apple in to this thread?
