is downgrading back to Pages '09 possible?
I currently have Pages '09 installed. If I upgrade to Pages version 5.0 and I don't like it, can I downgrade back to Pages '09?

When I upgraded to pages 5 it still left pages 09 on my mac so I can choose which one to open, I presume yours will do the same, I can't find any discussion that show if this was an error when I updated or if it is intentional! Hope this helps.
@Marvino73, the same for me. Alternatively, download Pages from the App Store on 10.8 and it will install 4.3.
On Pages v 4.3 I had 182 templates. I downloaded V5.0 and only have 65 templates anymore. The previous version is far better than the new V5.0.
Alsi iMovie is getting difficult to work with. iPhoto is OK
Total disapointment. The previous version was far more clean and "user-friendly". There are serious issues with Pages 5.0 (some of them: problem in insert page number; no "paste with the same style"; terrible idea to make the format bar so big and clumsy; cannot open the docs the way I'd like; problems reading the files in my Ipad with IOS7; and finally: an orange pen? Please...)
Is it, then, possible to keep Pages 09?
In my University I was one of the few supporters of Pages against Word. That's very sad, indeed.
App Store keeps the old version installed, just like it does with Logic, FinalCut Pro, iMovie etc. Look for iWork '09 in your Applications directory.
Ileen, you will still have the old PAges 09 in your Application folder!
I agree... Just tried to reply to this, but it was removed because aparently you're not allowed to complain about apple on their forums.
After installing Pages 5.0 and not liking it. I managed to restore Pages '09 from my timemachine backup. It worked fine.
The orginal apps are still in your Application folder. You will not be able to open files that you created in Pages 5, but all your old files will be fine. After one day of use, I am back to Pages 09.
Confirm that the Page 09 (version 4.3) is still in the folder.
Also beware that Page 5's header is not compatibile with Page '09
And I can't insert image in the header in Page 5. Anyone knows how to do it?
I was also looking for a solution to get back to my good old pages. Just looked in my applications folder for iwork '09. And yes, there is was! I must add that i bought the original iWorks as boxed version on a physical DVD and not from the app store. That may be the reason why it is still there, left untouched by the upgrade, which turns out to be downgrade rather than adding new features. Good to go again with the old version! Apple, please fix this and make it a real UPgrade.
If the iWork apps were purchased from the Mac App Store they are moved to a new folder named iWork 09. Those of us who have them installed from the retail disk or downloaded trial should still have the iWork '09 folder.
We are all just end-users like yourself here. Leave feedback for the Pages team using the link in the Pages menu.
I agree after using Page 5 I am switching back to page 9. It did not keep the original copy for me probably because I updated. I will have to go back to an earlier back up and get rid of the new and improved pages 5 that is useless.
Apple really blew it with this and the IOS 7 upgrades.
Be sure you dont make any changes to documemnts with pages 5. I saved one document and I had to open it in Pages 5, select all and then resave it in Pages 9. I was able to copy the old Pages.app over to applicatoins once I renamed the new pages.app to pages5.app. Then I dragged the pages.app (9) over and it works fine. I am very disappointed in Apple at this point. I came to apple to get away from manufacturers playing with their products and making changes like this. Maybe I was wrong to do so.
Luckily Pages 09 was stll there. Pages 5 is a total disaster for me. I use Pages to create epubs, and there doesn't seem to be any way to create a linked table of contents. When I opened a previous doc in Pages 5 all the bookmarks and links were gone, but all was good when I found Pages 09.
