Where is the format bar?

Has the format toolbar been removed in Keynote 6.0? I use it all the time, and it's much easier to view and change options, fonts, and other attributes there than flipping between different boxes in the new right hand panels.

I understand you are trying to be compatible with IOS versions of keynote. However, there are a lot of professional level users of Keynote who use these features every day.

I'll see your format bar and raise you one – where is custom toolbar layout?!

Did we trade speed for aesthetics? I can't use this app without the format bar and custom toolbar. I don't care if it matches iOS ... which has never been known for it's productivity. Upsetting to say the least. I'm in Keynote half of every day at work.

KeyNote is one of the major production apps I use in my daily work alongside Photoshop. I use it for making presentations, making development sketches, and even designing websites. Design sketches that is chopped and put into CSS.

Customize Toolbar is gone. Why?

Mine old toolbar was full of uesful one click icons with all the tools I use on a daily base.

Please, Apple, put it back! I don't want the Inspector open at all times.

I used to have all Inspector windows open on my second monitor in the previous version, just to have maximum free working space. Can't do that now.

Animating graphs is more limited now than in previous version. Delivery by series or column is gone. Why? A lot of my presentation has become less pedagogic in KeyNote 13.

I do like the Preview mode for effects. But I am not comfortable with the new Inspector yet, but I guess I will be after a while. Seems to me there are some odd behaviour in it, popup windows, scroll lists and so on.

KeyNote is, for many of us, a true professional production application, and we don't like when new versions is downgrading or limiting our daily work. So, I hope Apple will take this seriously and soon deliver an update.

Same thing they did with iMovie – took an application that had so much professional potential and dumbed it down for the masses. I couldn't more strongly disagree with their approach. Though that will mean nothing since I'm screaming into a pillow here.

I'd been using Quark and InDesign for my entire 20 year career. Sold the company and have been using Keynote for simple layout for the past three years. It was that good. They had just gotten the inspector meaningfully consistent across their applications which made productivity possible. I'd fully expected them to launch a page layout application in the near future. Then this... crap.

Like I said, screaming in a pillow. Whatever.

Customize Toolbar option is still there,

When this discussion was started, 5 months ago, the version available at that time did not have the ability to customize the tool bar, with the introduction of 6.1 the customize function was made available.

Hopefully, Keynote version 6 will continue to be improved with the promised shcedule of updates from Apple.
