isight camera not working after OS X mavericks Update

I have the same problem. I have an iMac and after Maverikcs install last night, i can no longer use photobooth or Facetime as it says camera is not connected. I've tried all the trouble shooting online for a few hours with no luck. Can anybody help (with something different other than re-set the SMC approach)??

I too have the same problem. I upgraded my MacPro 8-core to Mavericks today and then was unable to use iSight with Skype. Big bummer as i Skype frequently on this machine and love the iSight.

I actually just got my iSight to work by updating Skype to the latest version. Facetime is also working for me.

This is happening for me as well. Skype and Photo Booth both say I don't have a camera, and If I open up System Information and look under Camera it says "No video capture devices were found."

UPDATE:

I followed the instructions for resetting SMC here and it actually cleared up the issue for me. My built-in iSight is now working again.

(Over time, Apple has changed the built-in camera's name on newer Macs from "iSight" to "FaceTime" and then to "FaceTime HD." Regardless of the name of your Mac's built-in camera, the same info and troubleshooting applies.)
