Oct 27, 2013 4:19 AM in response to Luke Christianby RandyfromBlacksburg,I would recommend you simply continue using 5.3 instead. It should be still available in a folder in your Apps Folder.

Oct 27, 2013 4:35 AM in response to Derick Fayby jorhh,Imho, this new version is a disgrace. I use Keynote 09 (5.3) on a regular basis, it's the keystone of my personal business.
And the new version just - 'scuse my French - *****. I don't really need any of the "new" features since I would never even consider building or delivering complex presentations (such as mine usually are) on an iPad. Tried opening some of my "old" presentations with 6.0, and unfortunately it trashed most of my layouts. Yikes.
I'll stick with version 5.3 for now.

Oct 27, 2013 5:38 AM in response to trailgirlby wm352,The blur option under Shadow only blurs the shadow not the edges of a photo or other object like the Border -- Picture Frame -- Blur option did.

You can carry on using 5.3, but, by installing 6.0, you will have lost all your personal templates, colour palettes, etc.

Oct 27, 2013 5:55 AM in response to McWoollers (Lovin' it)by Erlang168,Or they could have incorporated a user choice selection whenever creating a new project: IOS compatible or OSX advanced.
They could also have an Export to IOS within the OSX version with a review pane of what will be lost.
But no in a effort to prove content creation is the norm on IOS devices the legs have been cut off the OSX version.
The weirdest thing is, the Keynote show lauded that the competitors had lost their way, making a PC that is a tablet etc. Now we have the situation that Apple is making a desktop software product behave like a mobile product.

Oct 27, 2013 6:11 AM in response to Luke Christianby Wezlo,Not really true, all my templates and pallets are intact in the older version of keynote. Of course, I'm running an install I did off of the disc, so I wonder if that changes things a bit. App Store version users, did your custom templates and color pallets get obliterated?
My templates also migrated to the new version just fine - but the migration wasn't instantaneous - you might wan to check again, Don't get me wrong, the new version is crud - but I've not experienced it as invasive crud.

Oct 27, 2013 9:53 AM in response to Wezloby Jim Bridger,Exact same problem for me. I'm sticking with the older version of Keynote. I have to agree with the comment earlier railing against MS that an iPad is not the same as a computer, then Apple turns ALL their wonderful programs into the downgraded iOS design. I love my iPad but a full blown computer it is not. Maybe it will be someday but today I need the features that Apple trashed in Pages and Keynote. Unfortunately, Apple has blundered. Hopefully they will get back on the right track.

Oct 27, 2013 10:32 AM in response to Derick Fayby shylocxs,Wow. Just wow. I haven't been able to use it much since the upgrade, but started looking at it and the missing features. I'm astounded.

Oct 27, 2013 10:40 AM in response to Derick Fayby C42D,Keynote 6 is a cluster F$)(@k. Apple screwed us. I hope the iWork team reads this and knows how much they F'ed over the professional community.
I don't want a fisher price plastic toy tool set to replace my craftsman tool chest.
Going to make a concerted shift in our studio to PowerPoint. POWERPOINT!! This from a 24 year Mac veteran.
Thats what I think of the new keynote, apple. You blew it. Badly.

Oct 27, 2013 10:48 AM in response to Derick Fayby 1Azhar,Please do tell Apple what you think, using their feedback form too (for those who haven't yet). We must let them know that it's not just one or two persons that feel this way (disappointed).

Oct 27, 2013 11:46 AM in response to gadgetgirlieby 1Azhar,Me too. To be honest, it's the very first time I do this (post on community websites, email the company, etc...) when I am disatisfied with a product.
The thing is, I really love Keynote 5.3. I use it on a daily basis, hence take a very keen interest into what changes Apple brings to it. And I'm sure I'm not the only one. Until yesterday, I didn't even know where to go to file a feedback. I believe there might be more people out there in deep frustration, but don't know how/where to complain....

Oct 27, 2013 12:00 PM in response to saulglennonby Paul Bristow,Master objects no longer appear in front of slide objects.
This is my number one feature. I give a lot of presentations and this one feature is something that ppt can't match. I have some great torn paper templates that I like putting videos and photos behind.
I gave feedback to apple complaining about this.
This missing feature breaks many of my existing presentations, including one I gave last week!
I hate the feeling that Apple are being this dumb, dumbing down my Mac.

Oct 27, 2013 12:01 PM in response to Derick Fayby C42D Creative Inc,right click paste and match style. Yeah, like we didn't use that about 1000 times a day. Oh well, we can always just customize the toolbar...
