iPhoto stream not updating on laptop

My iPhoto stream is updating on my phone i.e. photos from camera roll are appearing in Photo Stream.. But they are not updating on laptop. I have deleted iCloud Control Panel from my laptop, deleted account on phone, then added account back on to phone, and reinstalled iCloud Control Panel. When I do this, the photos that are currently in Photo Stream on phone update to laptop - but any new photos that I take won't update.. Am really frustrated by this - it was working fine until shortly after iOS7 update.. Prior to that all my photos were showing in PhotoStream on both my phone & laptop.. now it is just showing the most recent ones - luckily I saved all my photos elsewhere rather than just relying on this system.. Otherwise they would have all been lost! Can somebody please help!!!
