Is anyone else having trouble logging in to Messages and FaceTime after upgrading to Mavericks? I can log in to iCloud on the Internet Accounts page, I can log in to iCloud online, but I get an error when I try to login to either Messages or the FaceTime apps using my iCloud ID.

Forgive my ignorance. Where is the 'guest user' or where do I create a new administrator?
I did both and it doesn't even let me sign in from those different users...

In that case Restart the the computer whilst holding the CMD and R keys to enter Recovery mode and Reinsatll the OS.

I was able to confirm that signing in as a guest user worked for me too. So that would seem to rule out anything hardware related. I'm not sure I'm comfortable moving and deleting my user account though for this fix. Maybe I'll hold out for the .1 update.
Does anyone think it has to do with the new keychain? I was also unable to access Twitter or Facebook on my Mac. Even though I was typing in my passwords, the accounts still wouldn't verify (much like iMessage and FaceTime). My solution for those was to delete every authorization key and password in the "login" keychain. Logging in to Twitter and Facebook worked after that.
I see in my "login" keychain on my Mac there are numerous iMessage Signing Keys. Although I get an encryption warning when I try to delete them. Anyone else brave enough to try?
Having same issue, tried some of the suggestions here nothing worked. I updated from Lion to Mavricks, got a couple of messages out then it stopped now getting the same errors as everyone else here. Clearly an isssue with the upgrade corrupting some file. Same thing happened with my Adobe CC had to clear out lines put into host file. Keep me updated!

The keychain and the Auth Tokens are a possible source of this problem.
As you say there can be many items listed as the Keychain keep older items that it has used.

So I deleted all encryption keys and application keys from keychain for both iMessage and FaceTime. It did not resolve the problem.

Although I am reluctant to suggest it I would think your only option now is to reinstall the OS.
Restart the computer holding down the CMD + R keys.

I did a complete reinstall of 10.9 but this still did not solve the problem.

Count me in on having this issue after upgrading about a month ago. Like other the problem didn't manifest until yesterday. All other AppleID related apps including Facetime seem to work.

Reinstall seems a bit extreem for now, guess I'll just stick to iPad and iPhone and wait for a bug fix in next release.

More recently than when I last posted in this thread people are reporting that resetting the Keychain appears to work.

I got it fixed but I think the cure was to disable Flash from using local storage. I deleted Apple keychain items buit that didn't seem to do it. Then made the cange to Flash and rebooted. After that it's all good. Maybe if I rebooted after deleting key chain items that would have been the cure.
I can't log in to Messages or FaceTime with my iCloud account.
