I tried installing mavericks and i always get "This copy of the Install OS X Mavericks application can't be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading."

I redownloaded it 3 times and always get the same error


I have a 13-inch, Mid 2012 macbook pro with OS X 10.8.5 running on it.

I just had the same thing happen to me today (Tuesday, November 1, 2016). per the instructions here: http://blog.mconserv.net/2013/10/install-os-x-mavericks-application-cant.html setting the date to a specific time in which the OS X version you are trying to install was current should work.


here's what I did:

*go to "utilities" and click on "terminal"

*set the date to the example in the URL above by running this command in the terminal window: date 102613152013

*close out of terminal and resume installation of OS X
