    Hey fenelonmac,

Thanks for the question. I understand you have some questions pertaining to AirPlay on a mid-2007 iMac.

If you are curious about AirPlay with iTunes, see the following:

    iTunes: Using AirPlay

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5922

If you are inquiring about AirPlay Mirroring in OS X Mountain Lion or OS X Mavericks, unfortunately your iMac is not compatible with this feature:

About AirPlay Mirroring in OS X Mountain Lion

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404

    Supported Macs

AirPlay Mirroring in OS X Mountain Lion takes advantage of the hardware video encoding capabilities of 2nd and 3rd Generation Intel Core processors. Hardware video encoding allows AirPlay Mirroring to efficiently deliver high frame rates while maintaining optimal system performance. The following Mac models have processors that support AirPlay Mirroring:

    - iMac (Mid 2011 or newer)

    - Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer)

    - MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer)

    - MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer)

    Thanks,

    Matt M.

So does that mean Mavericks won't work on a 2007 imac at all? I just upgraded from snow leopard and now I have no audio output (master volume is greyed out) and every time I press the volume controls on my keyboard, I get an AirPlay Device Password prompt asking me to Enter the AirPlay code for our apple TV device. How do I get rid of this?
