Reverse order of Safari Bookmarks?
I just imported a long bookmarks menu from Firefox into Safari. The problem is they are in the reverse order now (newest at the top).
I want to reverse their order in the list. Is there a way to do this?

Hi Joseph. There is quick way to sort a folder of bookmarks alphabetically, but this may or may not suit you.
From the sidebar, drag the particular bookmark folder to the desktop. On the desktop, rename the folder. (e.g. rename "Finance" to "Finance new", or somesuch.) Then drag the folder back into the sidebar. It will be sorted for you into alphabetical sequence. You can now compare the two bookmark folders to ensure the new one is complete, then delete the original folder and , if you want, rename the new folder back to the original name.
Not really looking for alphabetical. I just want them in the order they were/are in Firefox, which is pretty much in order of when I added them (oldest at the top, newest at the bottom).
I have just discovered exactly the same problem. What a bizarre change. And there is no way to reorder them that I can find.
This is Safari 6.1.1--only used for occasional sites that my tricked-out Firefox can't handle without a lot of fussing.
There is one way to reorder them, but it's cumbersome.
Click on the folder concerned in the sidebar, then drag each bookmark up or down the list in the sidebar until they are all in your preferred sequence.
If you have a record of this sequence in Firefox, use this method to replicate the sequence in Safari.
It's just insane to have to do something so cumbersome for a routinely repeated update.

Your complaint was that you could find no way of re-ordering your bookmarks. In fact there is a way which I have shown you.
If you want something to change, I suggest addressing your complaint to Apple. If you just want to know how to deal with the situation that exists, continue to seek ideas from the forum. Venting here has no effect.
I know I can drag to reorder manually, and that is not an acceptable solution for a weekly sync of a couple of dozen bookmarks. Apologies that I did not make more clear in my earlier post that I was seeking a simpler or automated way to deal with this.
