Feb 26, 2014 10:39 AM in response to Madashelluphereby grdh20,The Total Finder guy is working on finding a way to do this:
Yes, actually I'm much closer to do it. You could see quite some activity on beta channel recently:
http://totalfinder.binaryage.com/beta-changes10I have rediscovered a way how to mark cut items and change them to grey in ListView when you use Cut&Paste feature of TotalFinder. I now understand much better structure of Finder views in Mavericks version of Finder. This will enable me to implement this technically. I just have to dedicate some time to work out the details.

Mar 2, 2014 8:04 AM in response to Silly Old Codgerby fireball17,I ABSOLUTELY HATE THE NEW TAGS! These stupid little circles?? I guess the Apple folks did not know how their users were using the tags--to identify files and folders quickly on the desktop or in a folder. I've come reliant in my organizing strategy to look for these colored folders. I can not even SEE the stupid little circles next to the name of the folder. I want my older operating system back merely for the better tag options. UGH, I hate it!! So disappointed in Apple on this fubar. They need a fix for this asap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mar 2, 2014 9:50 PM in response to Madashelluphereby iAmDanielM,Funny thing. My iMac only showed the colored dots... while my MacBook Air still showed the MountainLion-Style colored folders. Mind you, both Macs are running 10.9.2 and the folders in question are synced via DropBox. A couple of hours later and now my MacBook Air no longer has the colored folders - all have been replaced by colored dots. What makes it even more interesting is that my MacBook Air had Mavericks factory installed so technically it should not even support the colored folders, right?

Mar 2, 2014 10:52 PM in response to lclcvby scoop3,These tags are like trying steer a car from the passenger seat.
I relied on coloured folders AND files as the status of each project and sub-job changed -- from briefing stage to invoicing. Green Yellow Red. Loved it! Purple means I am waiting for payment. Yum.
This really hurts.
Please give us the option to go back to coloured folders Apple.

Mar 3, 2014 6:02 AM in response to scoop3by PeterBreis0807,There are more things wrong with Finder in Mavericks than just the color dots.
I normally sort out different formats of the same file by changing the List view to Kind, selecting say all the .eps files, then switching back to Name view and checking if there are pairs.
Lately it loses the selection when I change the view.
It is killing my productivity, single cut after single cut.

btw This is Apple's second shot at trashing Labels. It caused a huge fight between the Next programmers and the Apple users when the programmers removed Labels in the original OSX and did not want to put them back.
