Hi Everyone,

I have just downloaded the software Extra Finder that petermac87 suggested.

It works! :-) I now have all my highlighted folders and images again.

Then Apple should simple distinguish the two features. Items can have a tag as well as a label. Problem solved.

We shouldn't need a plugin or a new program to do what the Finder used to do by default.

I must point out that Labels is completely replaced with Tags. Apple should simply incorporate both a Label and Tag system that way a user can assign an item a general color and if a user wanted to apply a hardly discernible color tag, they can do so.

We're already migrating many of our systems back to 10.8.5 because it completely monkey wrenched our workflow.

Curious, what field do you work in?

Tell Apple, not us, or SWC. You are gunna hate the soon to be released 10.10

Do you really believe that Apple will replace that feature in a soon to be surpassed system?

I Used to break things. Now I just develop and maintain databases, and analyze the stored data.

Try XtraFinder.  It might not be quite as good as the original or have all of the features that you love, but it will give you colored folders and its price is right $00.00.
