Nov 12, 2013 1:27 PM in response to TheSnapDudeby Tom in London,I remember that Apple removed the "Save As" function in the first version of Mountain Lion, and there were howls of protest (accompanied by sneers from fanbois who thought we were all stupid). Then Apple sneaked "Save As" back in.
So keep protesting, folks.

Nov 12, 2013 3:57 PM in response to Couchcowboyby TheDoctorOfTheApple,Just so you do know if you want to make the switch, all the color coded folders move to be tagged with that color. I had a couple dozen red colored folders and they were then tagged with "Red" and the red color tag,

Nov 13, 2013 11:32 AM in response to Tony T1by DABbio,OK, I'll reply, and hope we all keep the discourse courteous. Downgrading from Mavericks causes us to lose all the other fine advances and functionality of Mavericks. One deficiency, even if severe, as it is for me, is not enough reason to discard the baby with the bathwater.

He's suggesting to leave feedback to http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html because no amount of "Demands" made here in these user forums will be read by Apple.
The amount of users that want the old labels back is very small, so I would suggest to either use a 3rd party alternative (i.e. pathfinder) or go back to ML.
Yea Tony T1, best post on this topic...come on folks lets take some action and "swamp" Mr. Apple-Feedback
Here's what I just posted:
Please bring back the labels where, in the finder, the whole "line" was colored, not some very small obscure dot.
What were you thinking. A "tag" or a "label" makes it easy to "see" something in a list. I don't want to sort. I have my own way of navigating and having those wonderful-easy-to-see labels stretched out for a particular file was very helpful for a this retired Captain.
Please, fix it. Thank you.
- Use what ever authority you have.
- Be polite and respectful.
- Try to keep it short. (Okay, I could have done better with this)
- Sign off with "call to do something about it" & a simple appreciation for their understanding. (The second part of this I failed to do..not a good mood. So please don't send a feedback if you're not going to be "constructive in a healthy manner".)
In the mean time, I'm off on a new "pathfinder".

Nov 15, 2013 5:41 AM in response to DABbioby Pontotoc Peg,Aperture continues to have colored labels. Today there's an Aperture update. Does anyone know if the colored labels will disappear with the update?
-
Nov 15, 2013 5:53 AM in response to Pontotoc Pegby Tony T1,I think Apple read in this thread that Aperture had colored labels, so they removed them
(....joking, I don't use Aperture, so I have no idea if the update changed colored labels)

Nov 16, 2013 12:37 PM in response to Madashelluphereby templeofdoom,Adding my name to the list of users unhappy with the change to labels. Separating the colour from the file name text has defeated the purpose of labels. Should be two separate things: labels and tags. I want the option to change back to the old style.

Nov 16, 2013 12:50 PM in response to templeofdoomby petermac87,You will need to tell Apple as mentioned many times already. There is no list to add your name to here.
Use there feedback page option as mentioned.
Cheers

Nov 16, 2013 1:29 PM in response to petermac87by AndrewC1264,Yeah, thanks again Pete... as you well note, this is an area for discussion, and I welcome hearing from people who feel the same way... this person no doubt read your helpful comments and link, over and over and over again, repeating your line over and over again is a waste of time so just stop

Nov 16, 2013 1:32 PM in response to AndrewC1264by petermac87,And what did you just add that was helpful to that user?

Nov 16, 2013 1:33 PM in response to petermac87by AndrewC1264,nothing , no more than you did, you were helpful once, over and over again just isn't
-
Nov 16, 2013 1:36 PM in response to AndrewC1264by petermac87,Nothing. Exactly. Just because some wish to fill these threads with 'nothing' then new users with the issue find it hard to dig up their only options through these 'nothing replies', and therefore repeating them is required. 'Nothing' isn't.

Nov 16, 2013 3:28 PM in response to Madashelluphereby mikesd,Here is the feedback I just left Apple. They do sometimes listen.
"I was excited to see Mavericks add Tags until I saw that they replaced colored coded Labels.
Labels are an important visual reference in the finder cluttered with thousands of files and folders. The small multiple dot Tags DO NOT replace the large visual reference of Labels. Please find a way to bring them back!!!"

Nov 16, 2013 3:51 PM in response to Madashelluphereby hftvhftv,Okay, not to be rude but really Tags is simple coloured folders but you can sort them more easily. No bull. No rage. No crap. Tags is coloured folders made better.
