How to turn off autocorrect in iTunes (OSX)?

I have the latest iTunes version, 12.6.2.20, and I have Autocorrect turned off in System Preferences (Text) but when I type in lyrics for iTunes tracks, it still autocorrects words. There is no place to turn it off in iTunes! This is maddening.

It is auto-complete rather than auto-correct. A workaround is to type say X then the correct version of the name want, then delete the X. Once you remove all instances of the old capitalization the artist will be shown the way you want it next time you try to fill it in.

No, just before the first word, or type the X, cursor left, type what you want, cursor right, backspace. As long as the letters you've typed so far don't match an existing entry auto-complete won't happen. You can also copy and paste the complete text in from elsewhere.

I don't think this option exists as autocorrect doesn't extend to editing referenced files within iTunes. However, what you can do is either select 1 track or multiple tracks and right click (or control + click) > Get Info > Artist

So I need to type an x in front of every word? I guess that is a workaround but it is still a pain. Thanks for the tip.

well, I actually typed an x, then continued with the word and each time, the x disappeared, but maybe it was auto-correcting. anyway, thank you.
