Unable to unselect "save draft" on mail box after updating mavericks

I Really Really hate mailbox saving tons of freaking drafts.

I really don't understand who made this idiot feature.

If it needs for unexpected deleting, it should save on JUST ONE MAIL repeatly.

whenever I try to find a specific mails, the drafts ******* bother me.

anyway, I usually turn off this useless feature by unselecting draft option on mailbox.

but It's turn back to default option again after updating maverick OS

and I cannot unselect it anymore.

<steps I followed>

unselect "save draft" option

click other mail account or tabs (to save this)

it asks "Save changes to the “~~~~” Google IMAP account?"

click "save".

It doesn't work.

It works before undating the OS.

Does anyone have same problem?

I like the mailbox of apple OS, but I would like to change to another mailbox app because of Only THIS FREAKING FEATURE..

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9), Mailbox, saving drafts

Thanks Apajos, that worked.

The quote from the link is:

This fixed it for me, at least for the time being:

1) Quit Mail.app.

2) Log into Gmail in your favorite web browser.

3) Click on the gear menu and select "Settings".

4) Click on the "Labels" tab.

5) Under "System Labels", next to "Drafts", click on "show if unread" and uncheck the "Show in IMAP' box.

Now disable "Store draft messages on the server":

6) Launch Mail.app.

7) Select Mail > Preferences...

8) Click on the "Accounts" button in the toolbar.

9) Click once on the account name and then click the "Mailbox Behaviors" tab.

10) Uncheck the "Store draft messages on the server" box.

11) Close the window and opt to save your changes when prompted.

Hi,

Same problem here, but with my Orange account instead of Gmail.

My email account is IMAP as well, but when I unselect "save draft", and save the preferences, this has no effect.

And every time I reopen mail.app the "save draft" option is always selected...

I didn't find any options I could change on the orange website...

I have no solution...

If anyone has an idea, let me know, many thanks

Hi yvesleon,

Thanks, but as I told, my email account provider is not Gmail, but "Orange" which is rather popular in France...

Anyway, I tried something else : I deleted my account in mail.app, and I recreated it.

It works as long as I don't close the mail.app.

Because when I close the app and reopen it, the "Store draft messages on the server" box is checked again...

It is making me mad...

If you have any other idea, thank you very much

bye
