That's good news. Glad yours is working.
I heard back from apple and they suggested installing iPhoto from the original discs (Of course! CDs! Remember those?). So sure enough, it was there, and what I trashed was probably a migrated version of iLife from 2006 or so. I'm thinking this will solve it, surely, but when I try to launch iPhoto 8.1.2 (the version that came with my imac in 2010) it tells me:
You can’t open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto.
You have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iPhoto. Please quit and use the latest version of iPhoto.
And it quits from there.
So I try to update iPhoto in the app store, but instead of update, it gives me the option to buy. So that may be what I have to do now, but I'm waiting to hear back confirming hopefully that buying iPhoto again will work and I'll successfully access my photo library... But considering that I'm really just updating, I expect apple to provide it free of charge.
Anybody else having this trouble with old software and new updates? 😟
