Greenish screen after wake up using external monitor

that may well be a driver problem with the HP screen

I would start with running a search using the words mavericks and the name of your HP monitor search for driver updates although I doubt that is it.

you can also check the system preferences in mac os x and check the 2nd display settings

What do you mean by open the machine up?

Having the same problem with an ASUS MW221C, although the monitor has not been a problem before...

I also have to open the MacBook (lift the 'lid' from being completely closed) to fix the problem.

I have the same problem with Apple Cinema Display.

Add me to it... I have the same issue: after prolonged sleep on the MacBook Air the Apple Cinema Display is pink when login from sleep and then turns green when logged in... only since updated to Mavericks.

Any hints are welcome.

I'm getting the pink screen too with my late 2012 Mac Mini. I have two monitors hooked up, both DVI. (Using HDMI->DVI, and mini DisplayPort -> DVI adapters)

It's definitely not the monitors at fault. The colors will be fine on one, and pink on the other. Strangely, the mouse cursor is always the correct color. The drop shadow around it causes anything under it to appear correct as well. The rainbow spinning cursor shows correctly as well. I'll try and get a photo of that next time it happens.

To fix it, I have to unplug a monitor to force redetection and then everything works. It also doesn't matter what monitor is unplugged -- I left the pink monitor plugged in and unplugged the correct one, OS X fixed itself, then I plugged the second monitor back in.

I also have the same issue. My 2013 MacBook Pro 13" Retina. Since upgrading to Mavericks, the external display presents a pink wash upon waking up from extended sleep. If you unplug the thunderport cable and reinsert, the display corrects itself. MacBook has not presented this issue before and the bug can be seen on other external displays. Not terminal but rather annoying.

You can either unplug or close/open the lid of the laptop and it will reset itself correctly - certainly a bug in Mavericks display driver - hope the'll fix it in the next update !

Same pb (MBA 13 2012, the secong screen is a LG, conneted by a VGA adaptor)

Note that :

- It's not always the case ("random" bug")

- The color around the mouse is ok.

- You can fix it temporarily : go to system pref, chose monitor -> change a parameter

I'm having the same wake from sleep issue with the pink (negative image look) screen as well. I've been logging in, safe ejecting my Time Machine backup disk, then disconnecting the Thunderbolt cable and plugging it back in and all is normal again.

- MacBook Air 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5

Same problem for me with my Apple cinema display 24" since Mavericks

Same exact problem with me, only it started happening last week and doesn't always happen after being asleep for any extended period, can happen if the display sleeps for 5 minutes.
