Cannot log into iCloud and cannot ?

Updated to Mavericks. On final reboot iMac suggested I need to change password to my Apple ID so I did. ITunes store and Apple Store recognise me fine plus iPhone and iPad have no issues.

Problem 1

iCloud states "Unable to sign in because of a problem communicating with iCloud" it asks to try again which I have many times over last 24 hours but same result... I deleted old data as it suggested and closed iCloud but still not happening! Anybody know if there is a fix?

Problem 2

Cannot sign into App Store to verify new updates or download new apps. I put in my ID and new password and get the message "An unknown error has occured"? Is this a common problem - is there a fix?

I wonder if I need to create a new Apple ID account and delete the old one - anybody tried this?

Just spoken with Apple Support and they frankly were not too sure what is happening - came to the conclusion thatits either a bug or server issues due to very busy servers during Mavericks release. They suggested waiting a while (few days...) until server traffic returns to normal levels and problem should fix... If not call em back! Ok if you're not in a hurry 😁

Okay, my problem was that my ethernet card was listed as en3 when it should be listed as en0 (tied to what I thought). You can check this in the System Information. Apple button>About this Mac>More Info...>System Report...>Ethernet Cards, BDS name: should be en0, if not, that's your problem.

Go to Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/

Delete these files, you might only have one or both,

NetworkInterfaces.plist

and/or

com.apple.network.eapolclient.configuration.plist

You may just want to move them so if something goes wrong you can put them back, just make sure there not in that folder or trash. Empty trash to be sure.

Restart your computer. Try signing back in.

This worked for me.

You might be looking in the wrong Library folder, like under System folder or another. Try this.

1) click on the finder

2) click on 'Go' (top menu) -> 'Go to Folder...'

3) copy and paste this into the field (minus the quotations)

" /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration "

4) find and trash 'NetworkInterfaces.plist' and/or 'com.apple.network.eapolclient.configuration.plist'

5) reboot
