iBooks is now requiring Apple ID password upon opening!
Why do I need to login with my Apple ID every time I open iBooks on my iPad mini?
This is cumbersome!

Try this I read on another Support Thread:
Go into your iTunes app on the device(s) you use and check the Downloads tab. If you have pending downloads clear it.
I checked both iPhone and iPad and sure enough there was "pending" downloads in the iTunes app. I cleared them and signed on to iBooks without having to re-enter password. Still a "Bug" in my book but at least a workable solution.

MarkWhiteLotus......thanks much. You just made my life better. I appreciate you making the effort to post.
Thanks for this.
I have no idea how I was suppose to clear the download; but after tapping it enought times the download contiunued, then completed, so it solved my problem.
and what is the Itunes app ?? in the itunes store ?? under purchased ???
thanks for your reply
I am obviously missing something - all it shows me is music and that's under the purchased button
More is just different types of books, I think
Still not clear what I'm looking for ..
Which device(s) are you trying this on, and what iOS is it?
IPad 4, IOS 7.1
under the itunes store, there is no option for books,,, music, but no option to show me i am missing ibooks.
but when i go into ibooks, what i thought were downloaded books, shows they need to have my appe ID plus password ..
If you had any "pending downloads" then the 'Downloads' tab would have appeard at the bottom on the far right. If there is nothing there, then either your problem is something different, or you have a "pending download" on another device; iPhone, another iPad, iMac??
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Thanks so much for trying !!!
Yes, this worked for me, too. I had a music file that hadn't finished downloading. After it did, my problem with iBooks was solved.
This thread and others discuss the problem of iBooks asking you to sign in with your Apple ID every time it opens. All the answers relate to pending or incomplete downloads. I've checked for such downloads on my iPhone, iPad and Mac (in iBooks and iTunes). There are none. Still iBooks wants me to sign in.
