iOS 7.0.3 drains battery quickly
After updating to 7.0.3. Yesterday I see the battery draining quickly on both my iPone 5 and iPad 4.
Just playing music for 5 minutes drops the percentage 2 percent.
Yes wifi us connected, verizon for carrier.

me too, since updating my iPad2 to 7.0.3 my battery is draining like mad, it was on the dock all night with no apps active and didnt charge to 100%, plugged in and using safari or mail etc the battery drains faster than it can charge. I have turned off all the notifications etc so I am wondering *** they have done with this update...
I had this too but found that turning off Frequent Locations in Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services -> System Services -> Frequent Locations helped.
I have had this turned on since IOS 7 was launched, but after upgrading to IOS 7.0.3 it seems this feature is using the GPS like crazy.
I have the same issue. After ios 7.03 update: Charge at bedtime (10:00 p.m.) to 100%; no use overnight; at 6:30 a.m. battery at 38%.
Previously had performed all the recommended tips to extend battery life, so I rechecked them to make sure they had not been undone by the update. Nothing seemed amiss.
Help!
You definitely have something running in the background that drained your battery. Were all apps shut down?
Yes, I have tried:
1. Rebooting
2. Exiting all the running apps.
3. Airplane mode.
4. Location fix above.
Nothing seems to work.
How is your cellular signal where you live? Reason I ask - you apparently don't leave your phone plugged in overnight, otherwise it wouldn't be drained. Once your phone goes locks the wifi signal will drop if it is not plugged in, leaving it only on cellular. If your cellular signal is weak, the phone will amp up the power to lock on to the tower, and will drain your battery much much faster.
I too, am experiencing battery drain issues, on iPhone 5, since the upgrade to 7.0.3. My usage pattern hasn't changed, but the day following the upgrade (and again today) my fully charged phone has lasted 3/4 hours less than normal.
Signal is not an issue. I Still see the drain in airplane mode. Cell, wifi, bluetooth, are disabled.
In a low signal area, LTE 1 or 2 dots. It is even worse, I can watch the battery percentage drop as I type.
I am having the same issue. I have listened to 12 mins of video, played 7 minutes of music over Bluetooth and done maybe 5 google searches and check email thrice, yet I am at 72% normally I would be at around 85-89%.
Is there anyway to downgrade back to 7.0.2? I need battery life more than a damned password saver. Battery gone down a percent while writing this.
Having the same problem here with my iPone 4 since 7.0.3 upgrade.
I had this happen to me today. Was sitting in my car and watched the battery drop from 35% to 24% to 11% in a matter of 60 seconds. Haven't tried restoring just yet, but that may be the only option. Another theory I have is that the background app refresh option is not working properly for some apps. I've turned that off temporarily and will monitor the battery tonight and tomorrow before restoring.
having the same problem on my ipad and my iphone.
booo hoooo!
make sure bluetooth is off and brightness is under half.
If the problem continues
Go to settings>icloud>storage and back up>back up
after that preform a restore by going to
general>reset>erase all content and settings
this will delete everything except the enabled stuff on icloud.
You can view whats enabled by going to icloud in settings.
Same problem here with an iPhone 4S. Changing from iOs 7.0.2 to iOS 7.0.3 makes my iphone 4S behaves like an iPhone 5: battery drains very fast.
