Mavericks Mac Mail Can Not Connect To Server Intermittantly And Mail Stays In On My Mac In Outbox For Ages Instead Of Going Into My Exchange Account

exactly the smae issue here... worked at the beginning and now doesn't work at all. Originally the issue was for sending mails with attachement or to forward emails.

Tried to delete my exchange accounts and put it back. Even worst as now it does NOT connect to the serve at all and most of my emails that are visible on the server cannot be downloaded and visible into the mail.app.....

I am also experiencing the same issue here on my machine (Mac Mini Server), Bosses machine (iMac 27", and another Dr.'s machine (MacBook Air latest model).

I'll write replies to emails when I come in and then notice that the mails seem to be stuck in an outbox folder. How can this issue be resolved?

Got my tech consultant on the phone... Exchange is a no go with Mail.app.... Will have to pay a licence of outlook to run smoothly..

Same here. Autodiscover turned off, specifik addresses for internal and external (owa) SMTP connections. It tries to send through internal even though I'm outside the network, but still won't work if I'm on VPN.

I knew I jumped the upgrade a little early, never go with a .0 release on OS X...

(still, the Mail.app inability to not download messages locally is a no-go so I'll probably have to dump it anyways)

Got the same issue 50% the time mail sends just fine, 50% of the time I get told that I haven't defined a preferred server for the account.

I'd rebuild my mailbox but I did it last week and really can't face the 2 days of rebuild.

Well, now I had a couple of messages disappear completely, too. It did not manage to send a couple of mails, I fiddled with account settings and set all but my Exchange account to 'None' in SMTP list. And now the mails are gone.

Synchronization issues and intermittent connection issues is one thing. Mails disappearing completely is another.

@APPLE plz. interject here! - Must we really switch to MS Outlook for Mac to have a workable e-mail programme? can't be true....

same problem here... 😟 some of the mailboxes don't work anymore.... I lost my passwords.., and at the same time there is no update between iphone calendars and macbook pro calendars... this is anoying... the worst part is how Mac keeps on silence!!!!! CMn!

Same problem here. Delays getting emails and sending emails from exchange. Never had this degree of problem before mavericks. It looks like apple is ignoring the enterprise customer. I hate to go back to microsoft, but will if business needs force the change. I can't tolerate business emails getting delayed/lost.

I have exactly the same problem and yes, it is frustrating. That being said, I can't say I have had lots of bad experiences with Apple. But I did learn a valuable lesson. When something is free, well........

Shout out to all...this is not going away.

Same issue with Mavericks over here. Did not have that problem with Mountain Lion but truth be told, mail.app has never had a good relationship with Exchange in my opinion.
