Facetime, iMessage and Push Notifications were working fine on my iPhone 4.

Since I upgraded to iOS 7.0.3 Facetime and iMessages cannot be activated because of 'Network error' and every app that supports 'Push Notifications' suggest to 'Connect to iTunes to use Push Notifications' at start.


Already tried to 'Reset as new phone' and restore from iCloud without any luck.


Suggestions ?

This worked for me:



iOS 7.03

iPhone 4


After upgrade to iOS 7.03, iMessage, Facetime and push notifications stopped working. iMessage and Facetime displayed the "waiting for activation" message but never activated.


The fix:


1. iMessage and Facetime turned on

2. turn off wifi

3. turm off iphone

4. turn on iphone

5. turn on iMessage

6. wait a few seconds and you will be prompted for icloud userid amd password - enter your credentials

7. wait a couple of minutes and iMessage and Facetime will be activated and you are back in iBusiness.

    hey sad to hear that,but my msgs seems to work just fine.

    just wanted to know is there a way i could turn of my vibration for imsgs alone and not the ringtone or normal msg vibration.

    I have an Iphone4 and having exactly the same problems since updating to ios703.


    Very frustrated as I want having any problems before the update! I hope apple fix this very very soon.


    If anyone knows of a fix please shout.

    yes same here....its imessage and facetime says waiting for activation...have reset all the settings and restored from back-up all in vein...


    hope apple does something to it as early as possible

    i have the same problem with my iphone 4. update yesterday and now having the same problems.

    as i've never had a problem with my phone before now i was thinking of upgrading but i word like a fix for this before i do.

    I am having the same problem. I spent all day yesterday on the phone with Apple and still do not have the problem fixed. The person I spoke to at apple swears that it had nothing to do with the update but that there was something wrong with my phone that caused the update to go wrong. I really wish they would get a fix and quickly.

    Same here. No push notifications & the same message for Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter etc.

    Delete and re-install 'Find My Iphone' app, this fixed the errors with Facetime, iMessage and Push Notifications.


    This fixed three iphone devices that was experiencing these problems within my organisation.

    I don't have find my iPhone either. I did try and install it and then remove it and then install again but it didn't seem to fix it.

    If I'm missing something or should try something else please let me know.

    Sign in with Apple ID on the 'Find My Iphone' app, hopefully that should re-register all services (iMessage, FaceTime) that require the use of Apple ID.

    Ever since I got the 7.0.3 update on my iPhone 4 I get the "iMessage Activation: Could not sign in. Please check your network conection and try again". I can access icloud stuff using my apple ID fine elsewhere. I received iMessages on my laptop through the Messages app but anyone else who uses Messages has their iMessage sent to my laptop and not to my phone. I used to get the messages both at the same time.


    I've tried removed the locate iphone app, reset the network settings, rebooted the phone, reconnected to my wifi and synched with iTunes. Nothing has worked.


    I'm getting ready to restore the phone now in hopes that doing that works. Never had a problem with updates till now and while this is annoying at least my data is intact!

    Thank for the suggestion rooki but unfortunately this didn't seem to work for me.
