(Over time, Apple has changed the built-in camera's name on newer Macs from "iSight" to "FaceTime" and then to "FaceTime HD." Regardless of the name of your Mac's built-in camera, the same info and troubleshooting applies.)

Nov 20, 2013 12:23 PM in response to Aliberatoby milkthebasic,I have the same problem. Macbook Air 2013, camera stopped working a few months ago, then about a month ago it miraculously started working again and since installing Mavericks two weeks ago it stopped working again. I have done all the troubleshooting:
- Reset SMC
- Reinstalled Mavericks 10.9
Still camera does not work on any application. Also if I login with different user it does not work and it is not listed in Utilities -> System Information.
Please can someone help me. The strange thing as I mentioned before this happened to me and then one day it started working fine again

You seem to have an intermittent hardware fault. Contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service.
