the video chat in Facebook is not working in mavericks

same here ... but nobody speaks about that 😟

I updated an iMac and a MacBook Air to Mavericks and the same problem appeared on both machines. I also installed Chrome on the iMac but still no video icon in Facebook Chat. Just hoping Apple will get this sorted sooner rather than later.

Fortunately I have windows available via Parallels Desktop. Good Old Windows saves the day again.

Same issue here. I thought it was because Mavericks got rid of Java and Flash. I can't do facebook video even after installing them

Yes, i have the same problem on Mavericks & Windows 8.1, i was using it on Windows 8 and Montain Lion, but when i updated my Windows and Mac the feautre gone 😝 so we must wait Facebook and skype till they make this feature support the new versions 🙂.

I just discovered I have the same problem today. Skype is working fine though, only the Facebook Video Chat isn't, icon's vanished altogether.

My solution:

Sign into Skype on your mac and link it with your facebook account. Maybe resart your computer, and you can see your facebook contacts in the Skype app. And you can call them that way. It took a little time but if managed to figure it out, so can you!

Same problem. After installed mavericks, Facebook videochat does not work.

There is a alternative to use Skype on FB with Meaverick.

1. upgrade you Skype to v6.9(701) if you haven't done it already.

2. login to your Skype and you will see there is a an option for you to "Connect to Facebook"

3. click "Connect to Facebook" and if one of your FB freinds is online, you will see the video button beside it.
