Powerbook g4 doesnt start

I have a 15" powerbook g4 that suddenly decided to not start... One day it displayed the grey screen with the apple logo but immediately shut down by itself again. What can I do? I really want to be able to use the notebook because it's a really good piece of equipment, and for my taste they just don't make them like they used to hahaha. Please someone give me a hint.

PowerBook, Mac OS X (10.4.9)

If the PRAM battery is over 4 years old, it may need replacing.

The hard drive may be dead, or just its directory is damaged.

The power manager may have broken, or the power cable itself to the brick may be damaged causing the charger to not work properly and the last boot to be on a trickle charge.

Contact a local usergroup to see if anyone still has utilities that old to at least examine the directory and mount the internal hard drive externally. Parallel ATA hard drives that are 2.5" can be mounted in a Firewire case and examined that way even if the power is dead to the computer. A good technician should at least be able to make that test even if you have no power to the computer.
