Anyone facing lag on OS X Mavericks ?

I am using Macbook Pro 13" Core i7 (2012 model) and had just updated to OS X Mavericks. Its a great new OS X and i love the new features, however, i have problem of being lag throughout the system :O Especially when scrolling on launchpad. Anyone faces the same problem ? Apple please fix this issue, Mountain Lion was great as it did not lag on my Mac.

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9)

I see the AutoCAD solution come up quite a bit on this post. I have a 2012 retina and I don't have really any lag issues except for in preview while scrolling through large PDFs etc... still there shouldn't be any lag at all, this is a really expensive machine. There is also lag in eclipse. I was wondering if anyone knew that I could install AutoDESK Inventor from the MAC app store instead of AutoCAD and would that still work since it's similar 3D modelling software and by the same company?

I tried every solution that i've found online, except doing a fresh install of osx. I plan of doing a fresh install during the holidays, but for now the current problems I am having on my 2012 15" retina MBP is:

1) Lag when trying to sign in after display turns off

2) Video freezes for 5 seconds and replays the audio from when it froze twice before unfreezing randomly.

3) random lag while working on the computer (nothing intensive, just basic small word, excel files)

4) random screen freezes ( finder, safari, vlc, chrome, etc...)

I just got the new late 2013 mbp retina 13.3 base line and it was fine for the first week yesterday i was using about 98% of the cpu rendering models in autocad i was only doing it for like 5 mins! Today morning the entire ui was lagging EVERYTHING the docks, scrolling screen and then just opening autocad 2014 solved it !!! OMG THX! But I find this very strange seems as if people didnt have a problem like this with moutain lion I didnt even have a mac then soo I hope apple fixes this soon THX AGAIN m8 this is such a simple fix! : )

What worked on my laptop (older machine, only 2GB ram).

Updated to Mavericks, huge lag, system wide, none previous.

Verified permissions, repaired permissions, restarted, lag seemed to improve slightly.

Was going to try the AutoCAD install and run as solution (as issue seems related to graphics).

Thought I would try running Photoshop prior, (version CS5.1, first run since updating). As Photoshop openned, system gave me a dialog box stating that Photoshop requires Java runtime to run Photoshop, would you like to install, clicked yes, system did the rest (believe it required version 6 of Java runtime for my machine). Photoshop opened.

After Java installed my system lag is gone. Laptop is running normal, multiple graphics applications open, itunes playing in background, safari, etc.

Hope info is of some help.

Man, I couldn't believe this until I tried it. Had this problem for about a year now and thought it would be because of the retina display or something. The system had graphic lags everywhere, flicker, menubar lag in fullscreen and worst of all the desktop lagged like crazy when swiping back from a fullscreen app.

Running an expired trial of Autocad 2013 fixed all this. I don't know what it did, but Apple should definitely check into that. Thanks for figuring it out. 😉

Have 13" 2013 model Retina.

maybe to shake things up: i had NO problems at all, and then i installed AutoCAD 2013!!

this in fact caused a good working system to malfunction. I have screen tearing issues.

uninstalled acad does not fix it. might try re-installing.

But i am really currious in what is done to the sysem, autodesk??
