Why when I drag multiple slides from one presentation to another do they not keep their formatting?

Using the updated Keynote version; in '09 I can select mutilple slides and drag them into a new presentation with no change in formatting. In the new Keynote, I cannot seem to do so; the formatting (font, color of text, etc) ALL changes!!! Help.
