I just updated to Mavericks. When installing iMovie 10, I get the message that my computer's video card does not meet the minimum requirements. What card do I need?
I have an Early 2008 Mac Pro A1186, 2 x 3.2 Quad-Core Intel Xeon, Graphics - ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB.
Is it worth updating my graphics card?

I have the exact same hardware as the OP and the exact same problem. I thought that early 2008 Mac Pro's were fully compatable with Mavericks (and presumably with Apple programs designed to run on Mavericks)!
Is this a bug in the new version of iMovie or is a new graphics card required. And, if so, what graphics card?
Is there a work around?
Answering my own question, to a degree! Apparently graphics cards used for iMovie 10 must be Open CL compatible. The ATI Radeon 2600 Pro is apparently not Open CL compatible.
Here is a link to a list of Open CL compatible graphics cards that I copied from another thread. I have no idea how many of them are currently available and how many of them work on the Mac Pro. Some feedback on that would be helpful.
Here is an update on how I solved this problem. I replaced the Radeon 2600 graphics card with an Apple version or the ATI Radeon HD 5770. I chose this card because it is sold by Apple and numerous user reviews noted that it worked on the early 2008 Mac Pros. The installation was relatively easy. Most importantly, it works well, is open CL compatible, and runs iMovie with no error messages.
Installing iMovie (2013) previously required a computer with an OpenCL-capable video card. This requirement was removed, and iMovie version 10.0.1 can be installed on any Mac running OS X Mavericks. You can learn how to update at the link below.
