why mailboxes continously scroll when trying to move mail?

So when I go to check my mail and move items to existing folders both the e-mail itself and all my folders go on a contious scroll mode. What gives? If I click with the e-mail, no of the text stay in place when I go to move up or down the e-mail but continously scrolls. When I go to move the e-mail over to a folder, my folkders not only start to repeat but they continously scroll.
