If you have the room for it, you can add a column that flags duplicate entries automatically.
Let's say that you now put your S/N entries in the first column. I would add a column to the left, a new column A.
In column A, write:
=IF(COUNTIF(B,B)>1, "DUP", ".")
And then set the conditional format to highlight the text DUP in column A.

Oct 24, 2013 9:19 PM in response to Jerrold Green1by raymondvk,Hi Jerrold,
Yes this might work, I will have to add this row to all my spreadsheets. It seems like a lot of work for something that is so easy to do in excell. I have been using numbers for about a year now and enjoyed it. because of the cloud feature. now Im wondering if i should switch back to excell and use Doc's to go.
But I will give your option i try first,
your help is greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Raymond
