AOL Desktop for Mac and Mavericks

After installing Mavericks on my iMac, I was pleased to discover that all of my existing programs were working with the exeception of AOL Desktop for Mac. That program crashes on launch. It worked fine with Mountain Lion. While I'm sure not very many people still use this program, I was wondering if those that do were having the same problem and have you found any fixes? Thanks

Be happy to. I did contact AOL and this was the response I recieved:

As you can see, it would appear at that AOL has no intentions of updating AOLDTFM. Since the program will open, but immediately crashes and the icon is not covered with an X, my guess, there may be a small tweak that can be done to get it working again. Perhaps there is a viable solution.

I don't think I can help beyond above. aol tech took over my computer, downloaded the fix and installed it. I just watched what she was doing and had no control myself over my MBP.

Perhaps if you go to aol.com or help.aol.com in Safari or other browser and search for help with aol Desktop downloads.

The new AOL Dekstop I got is version 1.7.784 and it is still working and fixed the problem.
