Jul 17, 2014 1:07 PM in response to Cravit8by Terence Devlin,Aperture will cost you $80. It's being discontinued in 2015. It has no Cloud capability. The new Photos app that replaces both iPhoto and Aperture will have it.

Well that is certainly good to know!
I don't guess the cloud capability will only cost $2/month and be cross-platform.

Aug 12, 2014 3:42 AM in response to Eric Eriksonby Shinxis,Same thing here. A workaround for me for the moment is to copy and paste the video files I want to "export" from the iPhoto to Finder. Command-c-v works for the original files at least (I do not edit any videos in iPhoto).

Aug 14, 2014 11:06 AM in response to commercializedby Kevin Geiss,doing a rebuild thumbnails and then a repair permissions fixed it for me. the rebuild thumbnails alone didn't, it still didn't work until I did the repair permissions.

Aug 22, 2014 10:26 PM in response to Kevin Geissby redtile21,I know this is an old topic, but still relevant as it has not been fixed-
I recommend a tool called iPhoto to Disk. I maintains event or album titles, and can export to a wide variety of folder structures. It has saved me hours of work trying to backup my photos and videos. Worth every penny.
When I switched to Mac I was leery of iPhoto due to the way it stores them in a database that obfuscates events and albums from the actual files. This issue really solidifies it for me. Photos and videos are very important and you shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get them out of iPhoto in a usable form.

Sep 1, 2014 9:33 PM in response to commercializedby Keifer.Street,Tried rebuilding thumbnails and it fixed my problem 100%. I was able to export ~2,500 photos with about 250 videos intermixed - all without the error.
Thanks for the pro-tip!

Sep 13, 2014 10:37 AM in response to JakeJackBRby dualsportboy,Another work around: I have done a lot of testing and for me, the videos that will not export, are always from the iPhone and have not been trimmed. Just to be clear, no probably with my Canon camera (no trimming) and no problem if you trim the iPhone video. So here is my clunky work around. Create a smart album of video. Export the entire album. Screen capture the error report which tells you the 'title' of the ones that didn't export. Go back and trim by sliding the slider a set distance, then slide back to the end. Even though you are not actually trimming anything, the maneuver leaves the trim button highlighted, and you've guessed it, hit the trim button. This must reset something and the next time I export, no issues. I have Mavericks and iPhoto 9.5. I know this is clunky, so it depends on how many videos you have shot with an iPhone. This has been the case with my iPhone 4 and my buddy's iPhone 5. Hope this helps, actually hope this gives a clue to someone out there that can really figure out what the heck is going on. Thanks for reading.

Nov 16, 2014 10:15 AM in response to Eric Eriksonby Wyoming Imac,Found a simple solution;
In Iphoto, select the movie; right click on the movie and select "copy; right click on your desktop or other folder in Finder and then select "paste Item";
The movie will be copied to that location in its original format.
Easy solution until Apple fixes the export movie issue.

Apr 4, 2015 7:14 AM in response to diacon doesby suisse2k,having exactly the same issue.
Exporting original picture works well but I cannot export anymore any video.
Those videos where made with an iphone (mov format).
Iphoto looks in the preview directory instead of the master. The file is present. I have try to rebuilt everyhing.
The only thing I didn't do is to use iphoto library manager.
I have heard on other forums that user using OS X photo App beta have the same issue.
So that is definitely not good.

Apr 8, 2015 12:18 PM in response to Eric Eriksonby cam.rex.03,Apple....are you there? Still not a resolution for this? I've tried rebuilding my database, repairing permissions, and rebuilding thumbnails, to no avail. A handful of my videos are exported correctly and others are only the first frame.
