Ipod mini hard disk problem

Hi all.

I have an ipod mini since 2 years, and I have a problem yet.
If I put more than 50 songs on, iTunes freezes and I can't connect the ipod with a computer.
If I want to change songs, I must restore settings using ipod updater.
Windows said that hard disk is broken.
Also I had 2 ideas :
First, I thinked to create a partition of 500 Mo that include borken sectors, and another of 3,2 Go formated in fat32 that include songs. But after 3 days of search, I think it's impossible to change ipod partition's configuration.

Then, I'm wondering if I'll buy a 4Go microdrive w/ Compact Flash it'll working with ipod.

Thanx in advance for answers.

Hi Slum

iPods have spinning hard drives like computers that can be very sensitive. If you can get some songs onto the machine but not past a certain point, my guess is there is probably a faulty drive to blame. If it is under warranty (and there isn't physical evidence of you dropping it or something like that) then I'm sure they'd repair or replace the iPod as they see fit. Make an appointment with the genius, as they're the only ones who can determine faulty drives.

Hope this helps.
