I have the same issue.

MBA 2012 13" with 290 cycles. It suddenly gave me sevice battery warnning after installing Mavericks.

So I have tried to reinstall it by clean install using USB drive. Yet it didn't fix the problem.

Same problem here, after mavericks I had Service Battery alert and my battery life decreased a lot, now It's up without charger only 3h max.
375cycles, 75% battery health

Yupp, since I've installed Mavericks my battery lasts only half long as it did before on Mountain Lion. I'm really disappoint. I've a Genius Bar appointment but I'm afraid they won't help me -_-

Same here...drastic decreased battery life and "service battery" displayed. Never had an issue before Maverick's install.

Had 7 hr+ batt on Mountain Lion

Went down to 5 hr batt on Mavericks

No "service battery" issues (yet)

Drastically reduced battery life

Eats battery NOTICEABLY faster, like -6% in 10 mins of usage with no apps open...

In the time it took me to write the message from a fully charged battery, I'm at 94%

Stayed at 97% charged for an hour earlier today

Apple, please fix...Definitely an issue which brought me to make my 1st post here.

I have a mid mbp mid 2011 I updated to maverick and I got the same message of service battery my battery life dropped drastically so I don't know what to do how do we fix this..

There is no fix at the moment.

I can assure everyone that Apple is aware of the problem and is investigating it.

I've been at the phone with apple engineering (they called me), and gathered some system diagnoses.

Let's hope a fix will be released soon.

Same for me on 2008 macbook with a newish battery (250 charge cycles) I now see the service battery status.

On lion I had around 4 hours, and now in mavericks I am lucky to get more than 1-1.5 hours. Very dissapointing given mavericks was advertised as extending the battery life!

Mid-2009 Macbook that is normally kept plugged in just started showing "Service battery". Only 35 cycles.

Okay guys I called in Apple Care and the person advised me to re-calibrate the battery and I did that I completely drained my battery and then left it over night and then i charged it back to 100% and let it run on ac adapter for more than 2 hours after it was charged 100% and then i restarted my macbook pro...and the service battery sign is gone and I see the condition normal for my battery. Hope this helps

Replaced battery, reinstalled Mavericks, recalibrated, reset smc and pram still have "Service Battery" warning. Hope apple is aware of this problem.

Just thought I'd add my complaint. After installing Mavericks my battery health dropped dramatically to 74%. Cycle count is 267, and I have the service battery indicator. Pretty ridiculous...

I also tried recalibrating my battery (drained to zero, and chagred to 100% and left on AC) - still have the same problem though.
