Inputplugin selection by number keys gone in maverick?

I have a custom input method that I created following apples tutorial on making an inputplugin or cin file and placing it in library/input methods. However there's no longer numbers in the selection popup and you have to use arrow keys or mouse to select which is severely slowing down work... Is anyone experiencing the same?
