Error -51 moving / copying files to SMB

I have a windows home server that I have spent years copying and moving large MKV files to (Camcorder, etc) without ever having issues.

Immediately after the OS X Mavericks upgrade, I consistently get an error -51 about 90 percent of the time.

I can keep retrying and eventually I will get the file copy to complete.

I have full rights, no disk space issues (over 3.5TB free), I can create files and folders, delete them, etc, just fine over the network via the connected share from my retina macbook pro.

Never happened until the Mavericks upgrade.

Anyone else have anything similar after the upgrade? Any suggestions for overcoming it? This is getting very frustrating.

Thanks

John

I am surprised this hasn't been resolved yet. I am testing this now on a giant customer with several terabytes of data being moved every day. they really are not happy about the timeout error.

I didn't look through every thread to find a solution, but I will update what I find on out. Right now I am testing forcing SMB1, which seems to be the fix everyone is suggesting.
