Quark 9 compatible with Mavericks?
Is Quark 9 campatible with Mavericks? Will it run? I haven't been able to find any information on the Quark site and don't want to spend the money to upgrade it again.

Jimkk I downloaded Mavericks last night and now Quark will not work, it crashes everytime I open it. I'm running Quark 9.5.3.1 and it is totally useless with Mavericks. DO NOT INSTALL Mavericks if you wish to keep using Quark.
Hi jimkk,
QuarkXPress 9 is not yet supported on Mavericks, QuarkXPress 10 will be soon supported on Mavericks (with version 10.0.1).
We are currently investigating what it will take to make QuarkXPress 9 compatible with OS X Mavericks and only then we will be able to make a statement whether we can support QuarkXPress 9 on Mavericks or not.

Matthias
I've just come across this too.
I've seen them state there were warnings but I certainly never came across any.
Fortunately I haven't upgraded my main computer but only by pure luck. This is a disgraceful situation that Quark has allowed to happen. As with many others, I use quark to make a living. For them to allow people to get into a situation where they an no longer use their main software platform is negligent in the extreme! They had plenty of time to fix this before Mavericks' release. What the **** have they been doing? Add to this the fact they are unsure whether it's worth them fixing quark 9 adds insult to injury. A cynic would say this was so we all have to upgrade to v10. Great customer friendly behaviour (that's sarcasm by the way Mr Matthias).
I hope someone sues the pants off Quark for loss of earnings.
I read on the Quark Forum that they are definitely working to make QuarkXpress 9 compatible with Mavericks. I have been in the graphic design/printing industry for 37 years and I learned a long time ago to never upgrade your OS until you know that your vital software works on that OS. It is a painful lesson to learn.
Hi Firstpresence,
QuarkXPress 10 works under OS X Mavericks, just a few minor issues. The official support, which will fix this issues also, will be given with v10.0.1 to be released soon.
QuarkXPress 9 is not (yet) supported under OS Mavericks, however we are positive that we can add that soon. We should know for certain later this week. Until then we recommend to work with Leopard, Snow Leopard, Lion or Mountain Lion when using v9.
Thanks
Matthias

Thanks, that's the answer I was hoping for.
QuarkXPress 9.5.4 - the first version certified for Mavericks - is now available as a free update for QuarkXPress 9 users through Quark Update and from www.quark.com/support/downloads.
Gavin
I'm currently using QuarkXPress 9.3.1 on Mountain Lion 10.8.5, however when I try the updater in Quark it still says my version is up-to-date?
I was able to download the update from the Quark site and it seems to be working now.
