Mar 8, 2014 9:59 AM in response to torakaruby Wilson0028,According to "Flip_209" Jan. 28th post, it appears it will be fixed in iOS 7.1. He stated the it would be in the next update, however, iOS 7.0.6 was probably unforeseen at that time. I can only hope that it is fixed in iOS 7.1 becuase restoring as a new iphone seems absured. I have had this problem since December.

Mar 10, 2014 8:35 PM in response to torakaruby ThePhage,iOS 7.1 didn't fix this problem for me.
Now I'm dreading having to do a "Restore as New" just to address a bug that will likely return.
I was so happy that Apple added this feature last fall. It was the primary reason I updated to iOS7. Now it doesn't function properly, and Apple doesn't seem interested in fixing it.

Mar 11, 2014 3:28 AM in response to ThePhageby torakaru,I am afraid that you will have to make a clean Restore to solve a possible bad configuration setting in your current Backup.
If you do it, please let us know your how is going on, thanks in advance!

Mar 11, 2014 7:07 AM in response to Deepakpanwarby torakaru,Did you make a clean Restore without using any previous backup?
That is mandatory to help you to solve the issue.

Mar 11, 2014 9:47 AM in response to torakaruby Wilson0028,iOS 7.1 was no good. Now I am afriad that a restore (without using a backup) will be a temporary solution as found on other forms. Has this been the case with anyone here?

Mar 11, 2014 4:12 PM in response to IrisLylaby rauckstar,Everytime I backup my phone to iTunes my apps reset. The first time I deleted the apps that were resetting and reinstalled and this seemed to help but it was a lot of work and didn't last. I have the 4s. Probably just gonna switch to a different phone. Can't be spending my money on overage charges because of a software glitch every month and what's the point of a smartphone when you have to keep your cellular data turned off.

Mar 13, 2014 2:43 PM in response to IrisLylaby Ing. Molina,I just had this issue today's morning, I read all your answers before doing anything else and I came to the conclusion by doing a general reset (Settings-General-Reset-Erase All Content and Settings) affortunately yesterday I did an icloud backup so there was no problem with my data. Finally after doing this reset my iPhone started working fine.

Mar 17, 2014 3:15 PM in response to IrisLylaby speedlever,I came across this thread while searching for a way to impose a monthly ceiling on my kids' iP5 data usage... and force them to use wifi when available. We have 3 iPhones and 1 Android in the home, and I was shocked to learn that something this basic the Android does without issue seems to be a problem for iOS.
IAC, the easy workaround is to go to your OLAM and turn off data at the source. This may not be an ideal solution, but if the phone is being problematic dealing with this and you don't want to go through the hassle of resetting the phone, this could be a temp or even a permanent solution for those who wish to temporarily or long term restrict mobile data usage.
We have AT&T and can easily enable/disable mobile data per line as desired and with no additional cost. I assume most/all carriers have this capability via their OLAM.

Mar 23, 2014 11:53 PM in response to IrisLylaby humty,Thank god. I was so scared to have this issue of "Apps keep turning cellular data on". I thought I did something to my iphone which resulted in this. I'm just a 2 weeks user of Iphone. So now I know that its a bug 4m apple itself. I have read the entire thread & decided to visit the Apple service 1st before I do some self troubleshooting. But I really didnt expect this from Apple...

Mar 30, 2014 8:35 AM in response to IrisLylaby findmuzu,Same problem, i lost my monthly usage data within 3 days, as i wasn't aware it was using 3g data to update all my apps... i tried several times to customize the settings but it keeps getting on for almost all the apps. i am using iphone 4s, and i am planning to change the cell phone to android as i stay in India and mobile data is quite expensive and we get limited plan over here... down with the apple.

Mar 30, 2014 8:41 AM in response to findmuzuby torakaru,Which iOS version are you using?
Did you do a full clean restore without using any previous backup after your latest iOS update?

Apr 3, 2014 6:26 AM in response to torakaruby nuno.bett,Hi,
I just wrote a workaround for this problem that does not require jailbreaking or resetting any settings on your device.
You can check it out here.
Feel free to post any opinions, questions and if it worked for you.
