How do you print multiple photos on one page in iPhoto 9.5?

It seems that the print photos section of the latest version of iphoto has changed and the option to print multiple photos on a page (or multiple copies of the same photo). Does anyone know how to accomplish this with iPhoto 9.5?

iPhoto '11, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

  • Select one or more photos.
  • Choose File > Print.
  • In the print options, select a theme (Fit, Fill, 8” x 10”, 5” x 7”, 4” x 6”, Custom, or Contact Sheet) from the list on the right.
  • Image of the options, showing the print themes
  • The preview area on the left shows how your photos will look when printed.
  • With some themes, such as Fill and Custom, you can click photos and use a scaling control to resize the photo in the frame. You can also drag the photo to reposition it within the frame. You may also be able to use other options, such as for resizing, choosing an aspect ratio, or setting margins, that appear depending on the theme you have chosen.
  • Select any necessary printer settings.
  • Click Print.
  • Specify print options in the Print window, and then click Print.

Cheers,

- Judy

Select the photos you want to print on the same page and type Command + P. In the next window cick on the Custom template. In the lower right hand corner of the window select Custom Aspect Ration and put in the print size that will allow multiple photos of that size to appear on the page size you've selected.

Haven't found a method to do that. If you have Pages it's very easy to do what you want.

1 - open pages and create a canvas sized to the paper size you will be using.
2 - click on the Media button in Pages, click on the photo from iPhoto you want to use.

3 - resize to the size you want and move to where you want it.

4 - click on the photo in Pages and duplicate it (Command + D) as many times as you need.

Thanks for this, much appreciated.

Yeah, I thought about duplicating the photo, but I was just shocked that they would remove something like this. I'm getting the feeling that the primary focus of iPhoto has become to sell calendars and photo books.

I just had the same issue and found a great work around to print multiple copies of SAME photo on a page. What I did was duplicate the photo in question (6 times in my case) and then selected all of them and then used the custom layout to properly size them to fit on page. Worked like a charm, I just had think out of the box a bit! Hope this helps!

While removing this feature from iPhoto is a disappointment, I have found a work-around that I wanted to share.

Select the image you want to print and from the File menu select 'Reveal in Finder', a finder window opens with the photo (file) selected. Right click and Open With -> Preview (or double click if taht is your default).

In preview go to File->Print, on the first screen you can select how many you want per page (See photo)

That's it.

Thank the Lord for the smart technical people out there. As someone said, removing the ability to easily print multiples of the same photo - or standard smaller sizes (2.5x3.5 or 3 1/2x5) and nice custom matting available 5 years ago in an older Iphoto version on my desktop MAC at school is definitely intended to get you to use Apple's print services - or purchase the pricey $79.99 aperture software. I'm also not a fan of the Pages update, where you can't even read your old documents with the new software. It really is outrageous. Thanks for this tip, Phares01. IT WORKS! (I have IPhoto 9.5.1- it is so limited compared to earlier versions.) Truly a pathetic money-making strategy.

IMHO the easiest way to accomplish multiple of the same photo on one page is to select the original picture in Photos and duplicate it (Command+D). Once you have made as many copies as you want to print select all the thumbnails you have created (Command + Click) then print (Command+P). Adjust the aspect ratio / size and you should be set! Hope this helps.

Great solution Ufdah! This is by far the easiest way to print multiples that I've found!
