VIP and Smart boxes not working with Mail 7.0
Ever since I installed Mavericks, Smart boxes and VIP in Mail do not work. Anyone else having any issues?
iMac, Mac OS X (10.7)
have the same issue here...none of the mails in my VIP folders show up...

Same issue here, but only on my two MacBook Pros (both 2011, one 15 inch one 13 inch). My 2012 Mac Mini and 2007 MacBook Pro work perfectly.
I've discovered that if I select an email, then click on the star to toggle the "VIP" status of that sender, then the whole VIP list will then show up. Rebuilding the mailboxes was a suggestion I saw in another thread but it doesn't help.

Apple doesn't go through any thread.
You might try re-indexing Spotlight.
