Q: Installing Canon LBP 2900 on Mac OS 10.9 fails.

Installing Canon LBP 2900 on Mac OS 10.9 fails.

I have updated my OSX 10.8.5 and my printer has stopped to work.  Then I deleted the printer and tried to install it as found in a older thread here in the forum.

After adding the printer, a window opens which tells me I have installed too many printers and my printer is deleted automatically. But I have installed only one printer.

Any idea?

Can anyone explain to me why, every time I'm printing something, a process called "ccpd" wants to send information to the internet? (I blocked it in my firewall for now). CCPD most likely stands for Canon something Printer Driver, but why does it want to send information to the internet?

The ccpd.conf file contains redirection information for translating the Canon transport files to those used on the Mac.

For example, a USB connected LBP will have an entry something like "DevicePath usb://Canon/LBP6300?serial=001E8F2968D0" while a LBP that is networked will have an entry something like "Device Path net:10.0.1.10"

So, it should not be trying to connect to the Internet but to a local networked printer. Given that you have obtained a patch from some other users setup, then the ccpd.conf file will not be configured for your setup and whatever software you have that is warning of this network connection knows this address is not being used by your local network and thus the warning.

I can't open the old Mountain Lion patch:

    https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7kZEfXZH5ZXOEt0R2NnNVpwdDQ/edit?usp=drive_web&p li=1

Could it have possibly been changed? Can you provide me with the updated one? Thanks,

I managed to download the patch and have installed and rebooted. Now, I can't find the printer among the list. These are all of Canon that i've got on the list:

How do I find the list of printers?

Is there any trick to "find" the printer in the settings window?

I installed both packages twice always with a reboot! Then connected the printer to my MacBook Air 2008, ... but it is not recognized! I tried it on Windows and it worked so everything seems to be ok with the printer!

I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing wrong! Are there different models of the LBP2900? Maybe one which isn't supported?

Thanks in advance for some thoughts!

I have a problem as well... printer canon LBP 2900... I was snow leopard... upgrade to maverick... so far so good... printer do not work... Follow the process (reboot and so on) many many times... I have also reset all my printers... reboot... reboot... then the list of available printer nver show the canon 2900... what should i do ? i see that the capt driver is no more the CAPT v3.65 but on the canon page it is the V3.66

=> is it the issue ? thanks for your help... I have tried all solutions that I may found. so far no success... thank you maverick...

Installed both driver packages, and rebooted, but system preferences still wouldn't show any printer to add.

And it used to work just fine before the upgrade to Mavericks.

Please help? What am I doing wrong here.

    Hello Everybody,

i have just purchased a Canon LBP 2900b printer and I have Mac Book Pro OS 10.9.4

i am facing big trouble to install the printer

i firstly install Mac_CAPT_V366_us_EN.dmg file to my system

then through reading extentions i got to know that Mac_CAPT_V365_us_EN.dmg will cork instead of above

from then i am repeatedly trying to install the later version but it says ""Canon CAPT Driver can't be installed n the disk. A later Version of Canon CAPT is already installed""

please help me to install my printer.

    lots and lots of thanks....

I have finally been able to install and use my Canon printer LBP-2900 with the help of the Gutenberg driver.

    gimp - print . sourceforge . net / MacOSX . php

    At last!

Could anyone be so kind to upload this patch once more? I really can't find it anywhere and my printer does't work without it.

    Thanks a lot!
