excel "data validation" on ipad

my company uses an excel sheet, which i would like to be able to edit natively when on the road with my ipad.

its actually saved as a ".XLSM" file format, which is a Macro-enabled sheet. looking at the contents, the main element that i need to be able to do is retain the lookup of named ranges, so that for certain cells, when i click it, a drop down list of the named range cell values are selectable. this is actually controlled through Excel's "data validation" feature.

if i open this in Pages, you have to manually create the list items. pretty awful functionality in comparison!

are there other ipad apps that exist today that would allow me to do this? i would prefer some experienced response, rather than possibly having to buy apps that i then need to get refunded when they dont do what i want, so any help would be appreciated.

this has to be a local editing capability, i.e. no cloud solutions, like cloudon.

thanks

thanks again simon.

brings me back to the original post - what apps are there that can do this natively? so if i save a copy of the source file or export it to another format, install some ipad app, this app can then allow me to use the drop-down list capability? i am sure others may have found an app or a spreadsheet format that i can save my XLSM file as retaining these formulas, so i dont need to go any cycle through all the office-based apps on the app store.

libreoffice, openoffice, any other mac-spreadsheet format.
