I have met the same problem too!

Mine is also the new macbook pro Haswell.

I have been using my macbook for 2 days.

And I have encountered sudden freeze for 4 times!

The keyboard and the trackpad are unresponsive.

But actually the system is working and the apps are working.

And the power button can actually work.

So every time I met this problem,I long press the power button and make it restart.

And then everything is okay.

Somtimes ,if you wait for 10~15 min, the keyboard and the trackpad will start working again.

When the second time I met this problem, I decided to go to the apple store for help.

But after several mins, it works again.

It is very annoying that the system suddenly freeze when you are busy working on the documents.

And it causes damage that you force to shut down the macbook.

I think it is a software problem?

Hope Apple can release some updates to solve this problem soon!

Recieved my 13" rMBP 2.4/16/256 a little over 24hrs ago. Been using it semi heavy and just experince the keyboard + trackpad freeze TWICE within 5 mins. I had spotify open listening to music and surfing the web. Music was still playing in the background. I have also summited a bug ticket. I hope a fix comes out soon. Very annoying..

You can add me to this list as well 😟 I received my rMBP 13 (2.8Ghz/16GB/512GB) yesterday and the touchpad & keyboard froze on me this evening. I had to do a hard reset.

I had just finished exporting 200+ photos from Lightroom when it happened.

This is my first Mac ever, so things aren't starting off on the best foot!! I will submit a ticket as suggested above though!

hello everybody, my 13" retina macbook is still on the way, but I'm obviously following this thread very closely. As I have mavericks installed on two machines at home (build a603 downloaded from the mac app store), i can give you a little perspective at least on the console logs everybody is checking.

The message you're getting is definitely not an error by itself, the frequency of it could be on the other hand a sign of something wrong. I get the same exact message on my early 2008 mac pro and late 2012 imac, everytime I wake the machines up, and just then, once. So it doesn't pop up by itself multiple times per minute while I'm using them.

obviously both these machines are not laptops so the rate at which the system tries to shut down keyboard and trackpad might be different. In any case, I would be interested to see the results if more people can download mavericks from the mac app store and perform a clean install using build a603, since the problem looks to be very specific to the build included on the retina 13".
