The keyboard and the trackpad stops working including brigtness keys and volume control keys. i have use apple hardware test but no problem are found.

I would look for and suspect 3 firmware updates common for all new mdels, coupled with the OS kernel hasn5 caught up to new Haswell hardware yet.firmware for SSD, EFI, and SMC if the MBAir and new iMac a d every past new Mac. And for updates to Maverick which take longer.

I exchanged my macbook retina 13". Hopefully, this machine won't exhibit this problem. If it is software, I hope it is fixed soon.

It's still showing "2013-10-26 15:16:22 -0400 kernel[0]: The USB device Apple Internal Keyboard / Trackpad (Port 5 of Hub at 0x14000000) may have caused a wake by issuing a remote wakeup (2)" in the log.  I haven't had a freeze yet for the past 30 minutes so let's hope it will be fixed soon by a software update.

My second day of use (6 Hours) yielded no freezing issues. As i stated in a earlier post after 2 hours use (out of the box) i experienced one system freeze.

Same here. Middle one of the three rMBP 13" configurations. Hangs 1-3 times a day.

So either this is a software issue or Apple has to replace quite a lot of rMPBs...

Same problem. 13in 256/8. it seems to be a software issue?

Just wondering if I decide to keep my mbp, would this kind of issue be covered by my applecare? or should i return my mac within the 14days.

So looks like some mba that upgraded to mavericks are experiencing the same issue.

Browsing reddit, they said that it could be fixed by resetting the PRAM?

    Instructions:

    1. Shut down your Mac.
    2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Option, Command (⌘), P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    3. Turn on your Mac.
    4. Immediately press and hold the Option-Command-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears. Continue holding the keys down until your Mac restarts, and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    5. Release the keys.

*i have not tried it and i have no idea what i'm talking about, just copied and pasted

When I called Apple Care they told me to do this PRAM procedure.  I haven't had a lockup since but who knows?

Excuse my ignorance but what does resetting PRAM do? Do you need to back anything up first?

And does resetting PRAM take away the error message everyone is recieving?

Same issue here, I bought my new 13 rMBP baseline on 23rd and had the issue on that afternoon.  Then more than 5 times throughout the next couple of days and today 26th I swapped a new one, hoping it is issue for that particular machine. However, the new one still has the same issue (ironically, when I just opened the box and setup the machine, it happened in 2 minutes and I have to reboot it before I entered the desktop ). hope this is a software issue and apple will fix it soon. I submitted the feedback

    HI xuhoatin,

THis is a software issue i think also. In the mean time, if it freezes again, put the laptop to sleep by closing the lid and wake up again in around 5 min. and it will work fine again. Forcing to restart will damage the machine. The freeze happen when multitask

    One more here.

I bought the machine yesterday...13"/256gb/8gb model.. Froze one time when I was browsing today. I have filed both the feedback forms.

I bought this Pro after returning two MacBook Airs (Mid 2013 Model). I'm losing faith..
