Q: New Retina Macbook pro 13 Haswell system hang/unresponsive

Hello Everyone.

 

I have just got my new macbook pro retina 13 Haswell (October Model). This is my second day of usage and i have encountered sudden system freeze for 2 times already. The keyboard and the trackpad stops working including brigtness keys and volume control keys. i have use apple hardware test but no problem are found.

 

 

Could anyone tell  me what is going on or having the same issue?

    I read of one person in a forum that described a problem with sound:
    he watched videos on youtube, closed the lid, went to sleep. Next morning after opening the lid, the device would not have sound anymore. He had to reboot in order to solve this.
    He did not write if he was using headphones or not.

    Just received my first mac, a 13" macbook pro (8gb mem, 256gb hdd) today. The trackpad and keyboard froze withing the first hour. I closed the lid for a minute and it was good. I have plugged in a usb 2.0 dongle for a wireless mouse and so far everything is fine. Thanks!

    I haven't had any sound problem yet.

    As written  whole over the net most of notebook producers have exacly the same laptopa produced with c1 and c2 on exact the same time.

     

    As I see You kinda know what machince get bugged, is there any Bug on late 2013 15 with 750m, not counting having good driver for nv

    So far all people I heard with a late 2013 15" Haswell rMBP are happy about it and have not experienced any problems.

    I have experienced the No Sound issue after taking the EarPods out.

     

    I had to reboot to get sound back.

    This theard is now 4 days old have we had no official comment by Apple as I too am experiencing this and well it needs to be addressed...

    I just recently had a freeze of my keyboard and trackpad and ive only had my new macbook pro for 3 days.

    it was a inpending freeze for me after reading these forums before getting it.

    Well it dosen't excatly help does it surely we need to know if there will be a proper fix within the next few days otherwise we all will be out of our 14 day return policy. Sorry not being rude to you just getting rather frustated..

    On my 3rd day using my new late 2013 Macbook Pro Retina 15" 2.6 GHz - 16GB  having the same issues! I had pages opened and went to click Cmd Q to quit and nothing happened. I tried using my pointer but instead of the arrow pointer I had a text pointer and couldnt click on anything to close. I tried "Force Quit" to close programs (this worked, not sure why when keyboard was unresponsive) however still wasnt able to open or close any software by clicking. The only thing that worked was to Hard Boot my system by holding down the power button. I called Apple Support and they told me its nothing to worry about. I asked them, is there any known issues on this? He said nothing that he see's. Obviously he didnt check this forum...

    This sounds different to me.
    Could you still move the mouse cursor around? Then it was different.
    The MBP reacted to "force quit"? Then it was different.

    The problem reported on 13" rMBP is a complete "freeze" of touchpad and keyboard.

    I can confirm that using the Apple Magic Mouse also eliminates the errors from the log and prevents the trackpad/keyboard freeze.  This explains why I have not seen the error since pairing and using the mouse.

    Dear Friends,

    i have an update. Today i went to Apple Store where i bought my rMBP and i had time to  analyze rMBP on Display all with Mavericks...

    Let's start:

    - Macbook Air Haswell had no error on console and no Guest account, so it seems ok with Mavericks

    - Macbook Pro 13 Ivy Bridge had no error on console and no Guest account, but i saw some graphic glitch ( grey line etc... ) when i used it, the same reported by some user here in this thread.

    - Macbook Pro 13 Retina Haswell had a lot of errors Keyboard/Trackpad.

    - Another Macbook Pro 13 Retina Haswell had a lot of errors Keyboard/Trackpad on console. - Macbook Pro Retina 15 Haswell no error on console.

    - Another Macbook Pro Retina 15 Haswell had no error on console.


     

    I don't think that Apple will release a fix during weekend, they don't work Saturday and Sunday so we need to wait next week and for somebody it can be too late...

    Hi all!

    Please tell me whether there are typical for C1 Haswell bug that disables USB 3.0, when the MacBook comes out of sleep mode?
