    Hi guys,

Just bought my late 2013 13' rMBP 8g,256 week ago and had 10 times freezes (the first one was in front of an apple employee during the first time initial setup). That's a well known bug so just wait for the updates. The thing is after I browsed my Mac's memory spec it shows Two of the 4g are DDR3, NOT the DDR3L. Do you guys think Apple uses DDR 3 instead of DDR 3L? Or just the stupid mavericks can not recognize DDR 3L memory?

    Cheers,

    H

    Hi guys,

Let me make it clear so hope anyone could help!

    RAM shows:

    BANK 0/DIMM0:

      Size:   4 GB

      Type:   DDR3

      Speed:1600 MHz

      Status:OK

      Manufacturer:  0x80AD

      Part Number:   0x484D54343531521641465238412D50413020

      Serial Number: 0x000000000000

    BANK 1/DIMM0:

      Size: 4 GB

      Type: DDR3

      Speed:  1600 MHz

      Status:  OK

      Manufacturer:  0x80AD

      Serial Number: 0x000000000000

Can anybody with the same Mac check their RAM to see if everyone got the same thing?

    Cheers,

    H

While I am one of the non-panicing users who love the machine despite this glitch and will gladly and calmly wait for a resolution from Apple, I do find it tough to believe that they didn't catch the issue even with its intermittent nature.  Do they not check for console errors when putting the machines through their paces during testing?  That seems quite odd.

I also am not seeing any empiracle data on how many machines are affected.  Without knowning how many machines were sold, we cannot say what would constitute a statistical sampling.  We also cannot say that just because nobody on this thread has reported that they are error free means that all units have errors.  USers who are error freee would have no reason to see this thread.

Anyway, I will admit that if you are a person of science or logic, it's fun to read the threads and try to speculate on these issues.

    what means that?
I know, the product description of the rMBP is: xx GB 1600 MHz DDR3L SDRAM

They used the wrong (older) ones???? Any tech guru here who can answer this?

Indeed - http://support.apple.com/kb/SP691 - shows specs of DDR3L RAM, just as the 15" has. Curious things going on with part/serial numbers on both the 13" and the 15" late 2013 models.

If you look at I fixit.com, tear down of 13rMbp you will see that their machine showed ddr3l ram chips
