Memory leaks in the app stack are troublesome.  This is kernel related, not higher levels of the stack.

Also been experiencing this. Laptop was fine prior to Mavericks. After Mavericks upgrade, seems to happen a few times a day. I had FanControl installed from 5 years ago; removed it and reset SMC cache (just 5 minutes ago). We'll see if it resolves, but appears that others on this thread are not having luck wiht SMC cache reset either.

I have been using my 13" rMBP quite normally, without trying any particular solution but have had a freeze too. The log entries may be irrelevant and leaks may or may not have side effects.  I wonder if my using "tap to click" makes any difference?

The only freeze I experienced was with 'tap to click' off.  Since turning it on, no freezes so I don't think that matters.

Received it 5 days ago. No freeze at all.

Received 5 days ago - how many hours of usage do you have all together by now, approximately?

You have no USB devices plugged in? No bluetooth-mouse connected or something alike?

Your feedback is highly appreciated. Thanks for the info

I am in, first freeze tonight for my 6 days old MBP...

Hurray, welcome to the club ...

I would be interested to hear who is using an Apple BT mouse.  I am using the Apple mouse almost exlcusively, and I've been using the rMBP pretty heavily for the past 4 days with only one hang so far, and that was last night.  I enbaled tap to click before the hang, but after two days of use.  I wonder if there is a corollary with people seeing more frequent hangs when using the trackpad vs. an Apple BT mouse?

Trackpad freezes often. A few times a day is a problem to me. Hope to hear something from Apple soon.

I should mention that when mine hung, I tried a usb mouse and that wouldn't work either.

This is my 1st ever apple product and I am very disappointed with the keyboard/trackpad bug. I was hoping Apple would release a flawless product unlike some other manufacturers who release firmware updates after a product is released. Please release the update soon since it happens frequently when running parallels and gimp.

this exactly is happening to me also. I notice it happens more often if I have used 6gb or more of memory and then free up memory by closing programs. Could just be coincidence.

I bought a new macbook pro 13.3' with retina play last week. Keyboard and trackpad happened to be frozen for several times every day even when there were just one or two applications. I went to an apple store and replaced it this week. Unfortunately, the new one gets the same issue, just not happens as frequently as the former one. I like the new macbook so far except the frozen issue. It really drives me crazy because I have to shut down the laptop every time to solve  the problem. Sometimes, my work done before the shutdown just disappears. I hope Apple can fix this problem as soon as possible because I saw a lot of complains about this issue.

Just close the lid and wait a little, you don't need to shut down...
